Didn't realize until......

I didn't realize how outdated our 370z's are (And I have a touring w/ Nav)until I got inside of a 2016 Maxima from one of my coworkers. That thing is awesome inside.

I still love my Z :driving:.

Outdated ? The Nissan maxima changes body styles every 2 yrs give or a take a month or two. It will likely change again before/if we see another Z...

Jsolo 07-11-2015 02:47 PM

More fun in an outdated Z (esp one with 3 pedals) than a current maxima :)

Zipper 104 07-11-2015 03:00 PM

Maxima

I almost bought a loaded 2014 in PW before getting my Z. The local dealer has two new ones in stock. I'm afraid to go look. My friend has a 2014 Altima 3.5 she's had less than a year. She came out of a 1999 Maxima before the Altima. She wants to go look at them. Oh oh.

Thats why when you go to nissan usa they have
Cars>
Sports Cars>
Always going to be a difference between a "luxury sedan" and a pure sports car

Exhaust 07-11-2015 03:55 PM

I've never understood buying a sports car for the interior. I think its fine the way it is.

Highly agree, my dad is taking care of my car while Im gone and hes like its snug in there, I'm like thats the purpose of the bolstering, its a sports car.

ShutokuZ 07-11-2015 04:05 PM

I love the interior of my car. Just enough but not so much to take my attention away from the raw excitement of it. If I want plush tech, I will drive my wife's Lexus.

kenchan 07-11-2015 04:14 PM

hummm... im not sure how to reply to this thread.

i wonder wats for supper.

HEK 07-11-2015 04:22 PM

I see a 100 Maximas a day and zero Z's , maybe there are more people that like what you like, than those who drive a Z and like the Z :driving:

wanker 07-11-2015 06:44 PM

Car electronics are like computers, they become outdated in 6 months. You can't look back.

falicfr 07-11-2015 06:44 PM

I own a Maxima and a Z. I like both.:tiphat:

b15 07-11-2015 06:52 PM

I also have the Touring/Nav and I'd say it's aging well considering the platform is 6 years old. It's not super flashy, but I think it looks great for a sports car. If I had to do it over again, I'd get the Persimmon or Grey. Black on Black is too much. Tech wise, I don't really need much in a sports car. Only thing I'd really add to the Z would be the digital guages/views of engine functions you get in the GTR.

Add a friggin iPad mini like a lot of us did, TecH Game........... Over!!!

1LIFE 07-11-2015 07:07 PM

A stereo system and AC are my only 2 requirements for interior

I don't think I've seen one ipad/tablet install that didn't look cheap. I personally like the OEM look, but to each his own!

MagmaRed370z 07-11-2015 08:48 PM

I agree that it's aging ok for being a sports car. I love my Z and busy cabin will drive me crazy. I was just saying that those Maximas are becoming like a luxury car nowadays. Nonetheless, I love my Z and the sexy curves. The Z32 was pretty cool on the inside too.

Spooler 07-11-2015 10:37 PM

Well, they can keep the CVT tranny. I didn't care for the one in my 08'. We are still rocking my wife's 03' Maxima with 86k miles. That one is staying. Paid for is good.

Z Ninja 07-11-2015 10:43 PM

Yes, I just looked at a new 2016 Maxima today while my Z was in for it's 10,000 mile service. Very nice interior. I'm curious how the new Bose noise cancelling feature works. Supposedly the 2016 Z will have this as well. I don't think Nissan wants the Z to be too much like a luxury interior or it will start to get too expensive just like the 300zx did before Nissan went into a Z hiatus and stopped making them altogether.

Duc_Z09 07-12-2015 08:01 AM

They already make a Z for people who can't be bothered to put up with the inconveniences of owning a true sports car. It's called the G37.:stirthepot:

I resemble that remark - before getting my current 370Z I owned a G37S coupe and before that a G35S coupe.

mishuko 07-17-2015 11:26 AM

i have a hunch they will be continuing the 370z for awhile and go on a hiatus... :(

Amj2020 07-17-2015 02:23 PM

I love my Z interior, it certainly puts the rental car feel of the Camaro or Mustang interior to shame. Though, I must admit if you havent seen a new Maxima interior, it is pretty damn sweet. Looks way above its price range, super plush and a definite improvement. The maxima is by no means fast with its cvt and under 300 hp, but the interior is:happydance:

The new Camaro for 2016 is really upping the quality of their game (though the seats still look a little less conforming - likely for the overweight people who will buy it):

http://cdn.bmwblog.com/wp-content/up...rior-seats.jpg

It's also getting:

- The Corvette engine with 455/455 HP/tq

- Magnetic ride as an option

- Performance exhaust with valves to open for extra volume in sport/track modes.

- Driving modes that change various parameters like steering wheel, shocks, and exhaust

- Adjustable gauge cluster that changes based on driving mode selected

- Losing 200+ pounds model-to-model when compared to the outgoing 5th gen Camaro. They did this by moving to the Caddy ATS-V platform which makes the car smaller in almost all dimensions.

kenchan 07-20-2015 03:08 PM

^^ so? nissan has a 4DSC!

:ugh2:

Zipper 104 07-20-2015 05:39 PM

Maxima

Saw a couple of them Thursday while getting an oil change done.
No worries….too large (the last generation appeared to be smaller than Altimas, to me anyway, not so much this one) and it'll take a long time to get used to the looks. I'll pass thanks. Wouldn't buy the first year anyway.

Saw a new one of these on my way to Portland. Too big physically still but I like them going back to the two 'retro' rectangular taillights from the four weird ones.

Hardly updated every 2 years, the prior Maxima came out at the same time as the Z and went from 09 to 14 model (15 really they just skipped the model year but 14's had an extended model year run). That Maxima and 370 were neglected by Nissan as they did not do much to update them since 09, competitors were updated and left them in the dust technology wise.....:eekdance:

The 09-14 Max (15 really with extra long model year run) Maxima interior was very similar to ours in the 370Z, it to was criticized for being "outdated" technology wise recently. Next Z will more than likely have a interior similar to the Max again. :driving:

Its at 300hp for 16' and 5.7 to 60 per one test, not to shabby for a 3,600 pound CVT powered car. Would be slightly quicker with a proper transmission.;)

Too bad they had to make it look like this.:roflpuke2:

What were they thinking on that hood line?

The only thing I like about the new camaro is the price otherwise give me the lines of the Z. Daily driving my Z five days a week and I see maybe one or two Z in a week.

Duc_Z09 07-20-2015 08:18 PM

The absolute best Camaro years were 1967-1969, followed closely by 2003-2008. Everything else falls somewhere way, way, below those.:stirthepot:
