need some friendly advise> please provide opinion

So im just about to place an order with nissan. I cant actually decide on 3 colors and i need some honest advice and help from people who currently own these colors. keep in mind that i am comming from a carribean blue G35

1. RED

I would love to own this car in red but i have seen a few in showrooms and it looks like its very easy to see swirl marks on that color. Also ive seen and heared that red can fade over time because its just such a bright color. but bottom line is i think its a great color for a sports car.

2. Grey

Now this color i know is safe. Its not too light or dark and its easy to keep clean. AND in CANADA its one of the very few colors that we can order with the orange interior which woud be awsome! My concern about this color is that it can get boring and i guess it just doesnt do justice for this type of car?? correct me if im wrong please. I think that getting the Z in this color would just make me blend in with every other car on the road?

3. White

I love white cars, especially Pearl white. Does this color really suite this car?? . My problem with the white is that it is only available with the frost interior in canada which i find to be too light. and would get dirty way to fast.. correct me if im wrong. Also i dont know if its my eyes playing tricks on me but ive seen white 370's in person and it looks as though when you stare at the back bumper and the rocker panel that it really looks like a different shade of white.. the paint looks off?? I think that would bother me you can even notice it in some of the pictures posted on this forum??

Thanks very much for any help provided. I am worried that i will just give up with deciding and guessing and go for grey just to be safe.

You do have to be careful with swirlies on a red car. Ask me how I know :icon14:

You just keep away from da Chicane Yellows...they are mine all mine

kdo2milger 10-25-2009 12:11 PM

honestly you wont go wrong with any of those colors...

i have the red, and as long as you keep it waxed you shouldnt have any issues with swirls...same as black, just take care of it...

whites an awesome color in person, pictures dont do it justice...

Black and PG definitely take the best pictures. White and Red look SOOO much better in person.

Red370 10-25-2009 12:20 PM

Mine is red as well, and the swirl marks are a bit of an issue, but like K says above, keep it waxed and its fine. IMHO, Red is the definitive sports car color, always has been, it definitely catches the eye.

TXSpeedDemon 10-25-2009 01:22 PM

White def suits the car, but I agree with you on the frost interior. Would get very dirty if this is your daily driver. My paint matches up perfectly on all body panels no matter what the lighting.

dalparadise 10-25-2009 02:02 PM

I love the contrast of the frost interior, but fear what it would look like after a year or so of daily use. So, that might nix the white, though I think the Z is one of the few white cars I could really love. It simply looks great in white.

Ditto red. It's a big statement. I think the Z looks killer in red. Red is a more youthful expression of the Z.

Platinum Graphite is my choice for a sophisticated look -- a bit more refined, perhaps, than the other two. I love how the silver and black accents on the car work with the gunmetal gray paint. Then, by adding the Persimmon interior, you've recaptured some of the youthful feel the Z exudes so well. PG for the win/win.

greatly said.

The Frost interior would probably kill me. Reason is it will be a daily driver except for some harsh winter months. im not a dirty person at all but the effort to just keep it looking like frost is probably great.

"All Sports cars are RED"

As the old saying goes "All Sports cars are RED". As you can see I have the Red Z. My old Pre-ordered 03 350 was Red and I had it for almost 7 years with no issues on fading. When waxing by hand you do not need to worry about swirl marks on the Red either. I also had the frost interior in the 350 and loved it. So there was no need to worry about the frost interior when I ordered the 370 which has the frost.

SO, yes I love the RED and with the frost interior:)

GETU1 10-25-2009 02:20 PM

I've never like red on any car. To me, it's just too feminine (sorry to all you red 370 owners). Besides, cops keep a special eye out for red sports car from what I hear.

I've never liked white cars either. When I was growing up, my parents mostly bought white cars. Even when it came time for me to get a car, they insisted on it being white. So for me not like white cars is more of a rebellion thing. I do admit, the Nismo in white looks soooo clean and fresh.

The gray or PG would be my choice of color. It's a great color that you won't get sick of for a long time or if ever.

I have a brilliant silver 370. It's not the greatest color in the world or my absolute favorite, but it's a color that I won't get sick of. It is a color that can be kept clean pretty easily.

You gotta ask yourself of any color, would you get sick of it within a year? That's the key.

AK370Z 10-25-2009 03:33 PM

No Monterey Blue? :ban: :icon17:

Seriously, you can't go wrong with any color. But my initial choice was White and then PG. Then out of no where, I end up ordering Monterey Blue. So, I'd go with White if I were you.

Well right now like ive stated i have a carribean blue G35 coupe. for those of you who dont know the blue i have now is just as bright if not brighter then the blue for the 370z. i have had this for 3 years now and i am not sick of it at all. i think i might get sick and tired of silver or grey just because theres not much too it..

THanks for the input ppl

Any color is awesome in a 370. I like the white though as they make CF look good.

the white is more of an elegant color, whereas black n red are more agressive

Those are all good color choices assuming when you say "gray" you mean platinum graphite. I say that because silver is SOoo common in any car. These are the same color choices I had to think about. I saw all these color in person and the one that stood out to me most was PG. Just go to the dealer and you should be able to make your choice. Good luck.

g35300mm 11-01-2009 09:44 PM

well,

ive taken the red off the list. im going to be keeping this car for at least 4 or 5 years and i dont want to risk getting sick of my paint.

The choice is now between white or grey. I am affriad to go with white because of that interior. it looks so delicate and light taking into consideration that this will deff be a daily driver for me. I wonder is a scotch gaurd product/ sealent would help for that interior??

VTalumni 11-02-2009 12:41 AM

Whats your issue with black? As long as you can keep it clean, its awesome....

370er 11-02-2009 02:28 AM

What about white with black interior? I think there are too many gray / silver cars on the road. A sports car needs to stand out from the crowd. My favorite colors in the 370Z are Yellow, Blue, White. At the end of the day it's still a sexy looking car no matter what color you decide on

I wisshhh white with black interior was an option here! i would get white hands down but its not. only white on grey interior is available to canadians..:shakes head:

Red370 11-02-2009 08:06 AM

quick question, why would you get sick of red? My car turns heads wherever it goes, white, while it looks nice, is far too bland, and doesnt stand out from the pack.

That's easy to say as a red owner. The white looks amazing in person and will turn heads just the same.

Silver is too common………….when you think of a sports car, you always think RED.

I said this in another thread, but I'll say it again here. Nissan did a great job of selecting colors that all work equally as well on this car. On the downside, it makes it really difficult to make a decision!

MeetJoeAsian 11-02-2009 12:51 PM

I love pearl white paint, both my 350Z and G35c were pearl whites....when I first started looking at the 370Z, I also wanted a pearl white...but I landed a deal on a Monterey Blue that couldn't be beat, so I bought it without ever seeing it in person. the MB was not anywhere on my list of choices for my Z...but when I saw my car the very first time when it pulled up to me over a ramp at the airport, my jaw dropped...it was hella flashy anywhere you see it...I had no doubt that I fell in love with the MB when I saw it...it stood out and it caught everyone's attention around it...it screamed sports car...

About a month and a half ago, I was contemplating trading my MB in for a PW, and I went to the dealership to take a look at one...it was beautiful just like the way I knew the PW would be...but one thing about the color that I noticed was that it didn't really stand out...it doesn't draw gawkers like the MB does...I loved the white...after the test drive, I pulled my MB up right next to it to compare, and right at that moment, I felt so very confident that the blue was the right color for me...before that night, I had doubts in my mind that I picked the wrong color, but I drove away from that dealership that night knowing that I had picked the right color...the white is beautiful, and that's what it is, it brings out beauty...whereas the MB screams sexiness and aggressive...the MB is flashy as hell...you WILL be noticed on the road if you have the MB, whereas the white will blend in...and there's nothing wrong with that, if you like to lay low...

to me, the 2009 370Z had 3 flashy colors, and they were the blue, red, and yellow....the black, silver, and gray were all neutral colors....and the white is a classy color...

I will not buy a silver or gray car because I do not like them because to me they're dull, and over played...every manufacturer has a silver or gray car...I remember when I shopped for my 350Z, everytime I saw a silver one, I doubted myself in getting the 350Z because I thought the car was ugly...then I saw a white one, and it amazed me every time...and that's how I landed my 350Z....even now, everytime I see a silver 350Z, I just see another car, but I have come to realize that it's because of the color, not the car...

I have seen the 370Z in red, and I gotta say, that is a sexy color, and I have never liked red before...of the 3 colors you posted, PG would not be in the equation for me, so it would be between the red or white....white is classy and a thing of beauty, but I would pick red because it's sexy and flashy on a sports car...

Have it your way, dude! When you have various good choices, it's hard to decide; but, whatever you choose (chose??), you'll love it for as long as you own her! Did you already buy her?!

If Red, Grey and White are your choices, I would definitely recommend the White. It is awesome up close and then just order it with the charcoal interior. It will last the longest (in fashion) and will wear well. Get the Sport model option though.... it looks amazing on this car.
