Wow really! So this means that on the street you should be able to reach 180? That is not the stock speedo gauge, but according to that digital readout it is 242 MPH when converted almost 243 MPH as I see 391 for a split second before he comes of the throttle.

I feel the car is on the Dyno
not in the street

Um, why wouldn't it be? Do you realize that the remaining 6 billion normal people (i.e. non americans) use kilometres and not miles?

The speedometer maxes out at 280 km/h, but the car was still accelerating so he switched camera to his digital readout which continued to increase until 390 km/h before hitting redline in top gear. Of course, that car must have been on a dyno, or even had the back jacked up and the rear wheels unloaded to achieve such a speed. Air resistance would mean the car would never even approach such a speed without a massive upgrade to its engine ala 1001 hp veyron

on the other hand the video may be inaccurate. I did calculations using the auto gear ratios and max speed should be around 365 km/h at redline in 7th

Also, who says the digital was calibrated right?

Lastly, I doubt they had the tires on the car. The accelleration presented with the speedo between gears shows that there is little, if any, weight on the drivetrain.

Haha what percentage of Z's is sold in the US? The normal speedo is MPH!

jk jk Why the US isn't metric by now is absurd.

You don't remember? Learning the metric system is a communist plot.

I do remember that. Unreal.

kannibul 10-23-2009 04:05 PM

Notice VDC is off, yet the "slip" light is on, that should be a clue right there that the car is not on the ground...or meeting any sense or resistance to the drivetrain.

MeetJoeAsian 10-23-2009 04:10 PM

too quiet to be actually moving through air...and seems like too smooth of a ride too...

Sometimes I wonder about you guys w/ some of the comments on here:ugh2:

I think they are just being funny. Everyone is aware of the fact that the car is on a lift. Doing that kind of speed on ground would be a lot more involved.

Yup kannibul, you tard....hehehhehe :tup::nutswinger:

And don't forget that the speed rating of our tires would surely not perform up to those speeds. If this was on the streets, he would surely be dead from a blowout. "Don't try this at home"

blue660r01 10-24-2009 04:28 PM

I was driving and yes it was on the street

Supremo 10-24-2009 04:30 PM

I do not beleive that it run at 390 Km/h. Simply do not beleive. Too much for 330 HP.

Supremo 10-24-2009 04:32 PM

What is turbonator ?

I think they are just trying to advertise their speed limit removal tool as indicated by the title.

Snakes709 10-25-2009 01:11 PM

its nice that the limiter is off but the 370z would never go that fast on the road due to the air resistance

fairladyZ34 10-25-2009 07:12 PM

you could push the Z out of a cargo plane from 10k feet, im sure itd do over 242 before it hits the ground

fairladyZ34 10-25-2009 07:12 PM

not that anyone would ever want to tho
