http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...546352f35b.jpgSo this guy was parking next to me before my wheels were stolen. Not anymore lol.

So the body shops estimate is up to $8600. They are telling me the rotors are fine, but I'm fighting them on that.

So body shop just called and said they need to replace the calipers as well but not the rotors. How much do you all think the calipers will cost? They couldn't quote me yet because they hadn't ordered them.

Redhorizons 05-12-2015 11:43 AM

Parts department at local nissan dealer said $1800. Actually surprised, I was figuring more; though they are not Brembos. I Had an issue with the brembos on my 03 Track back in the day. I remember them quoting me around $1200 for a single rear.

kenchan 05-12-2015 11:46 AM

i wouldve thought the rotors could get damaged when placed on the ground but calipers, huh?

Yeah, they did some damage to them when they were taking off the wheels. The car was parked close to the curb on the passenger side; I guess that's why. I want the rotors to be replaced as well, but they keep saying they are fine.

i see... i'd have to see myself wat 'fine' looks like. :icon17:

They won't be fine anymore if you somehow take a quick whack at each with something heavy, like a tire iron:D

Tires, Rims Stolen From 7 Cars In North Massapequa, Hicksville « CBS New York

Not much longer till the insurance companies start getting ticked off and doing something about it.

Thieves should be treated like rustlers were... hung from the nearest tree or shot. :shakes head:

Yes yes yes. Shoot them all and then set them on fire. In my books, low life bastards don't deserve a burial as we (decent and responsible citizens) do.
If the law would grant me "permission" to shoot and kill them bastards in an effort to rid society from them, I would gladly do it. Hell, I even will shoot them for free. Heck, I will even shoot anyone for free (if the law would allow me to do it) as long as I'm doing a favor to the rest of the world.
Scumbags and the parasitic low life mother fuckers of America would be scrambling for their life.

So I got the Z back from the shop last Friday and had to make a tough decision. Trade it in or take the chance of it happening again. Well, I decided to trade it in. I went the practical route and got the new Jeep Renegade.

It's a sad day, but I do like the Jeep a lot.
