Stupid Neighbors

So I recently moved into a new house, and know the majority of my neighbors. This one guy directly next to me, never says anything to my family and basically ignores us...fine I get the message no problem, everyone else has been great.

So yesterday my landscaper came and got my property ready for the spring/summer and completely re-landscaped and cleaned the entire property.

Today Im watching as this guy is using his leaf blower to blow all my new mulch and all the debris from his property onto my driveway. It goes all over my previously completely clear driveway, and three cars in the driveway...one which just got back from the car wash.

Im trying to be a good neighbor...so I go over to the guy while he is still blowing stuff right into my driveway, and I say excuse me, could you try to refrain from getting it directly onto my cars and property. He replies...too bad, your landscaper blew it all over my property two weeks ago, so thats why I did it. You should have told them not to blow it onto my property...Which I wouldn't know because im out you know WORKING...if you weren't a freaking complete socially degenerate moron you would know that, and speak to me like a decent human and not a total piece of garbage. So I ask if this is truly how he intends to reply, and he just laughs, so I called him a **** and walked away...I was just going to ask him to stop doing it, but this is ridiculous. I wanted to get my leaf blower and blow it right back, but instead I swept it into a nice pile and put it right in front of his driveway neatly.

Wondering what you guys may have done in a similar situation.

Unlike an apartment where you can pack up and move at the end of a lease I would try my best to ignore him. Some people are nuts nowadays, some just trying to cope with life, bills, stress, health issues etc. As a non confrontational person I would just let it be. Dispose of the leaves and be done with it. You now know what your working with. Sweeping them up in a neat lil pile in front of his driveway just says I can be a butthole too...now your turn. Crap like that never ends. Dont get me wrong it woukd piss me off too. But just trash the leaves and go about your business. You and he are there to stay a bit so make it work by ignoring childish stuff like that. Just my $.02. Your 370Z neighbor who doesn't wnat to hear of you being shot over a few dirty cars and leaves in the driveway.

Good luck OP.

I'm a huge believer in killing with kindness, positive energy is really hard to fight with. I would have asked if I could help him with the cleaning because the debris was going over your property. With that approach you probably would have learned about your landscaper with out him having such a defensive reaction, as I'm sure he's not happy about your landscaper as well. Remember he's your neighbor and he's not going anywhere anytime soon so you guys should be friendly, pun intended.

Sadly its a house...All he would have to do is mention it happened and I would ask my landscaper, but this guy...what a jerk.

This all makes perfect sense, I think my penis is preventing me from picking up the pile...

Ofcourse a fu*king angel would say some hippy bullsh!t like that. Now squish him and listen to the devil on your other shoulder....

But yeah, unless you're willing to invest in a lot of bleach, plastic sheeting, and a large Persian rug.... Make nice. The douchebag isn't going anywhere and escalating usually ends with bright red and blue lights all over the neighborhood.

LoL too funny, I have had similar situations, trust me it is hard to bite your tongue. I walk around my yard with my firearm on my outside the waistband holster, play my music extremely loud, yell at the sky for no reason sometimes especially when its really quiet, rev the $%^ out of my car in the garage with the door open so it makes a sonic boom effect, answer my door semi naked, make bon fires in my back yard, set my sprinklers to turn on and adjusted them to spray toward the street when people walk their dog in front of my house (we live on well water it smells horrible).

Oh yeah I am a devious SOB yet my neighbors all love me, bring me toys for my kid, give me their old stuff before they toss it or sell it, always come to me for advice on house work etc etc. We have get togethers parties and BBQ's from time to time. I am the youngest home owner in this part of of the city. It is really boring here, but very safe.

What I would do if I were you is speak to all the other neighbors about the situation, ask them how they would proceed and if they have ever encountered a problem with the leaf blower douche before. Just don't bring yourself to his level, the minute you do, he knows he has got you. If you completely ignore him and never acknowledge his ignorance he will eventually give up being an $*%. He can not get under your skin. He might need your help one day or vice versa for an emergency and those bridges you want to do your best to keep them intact for your own personal safety and well as your family.

Anyway good luck.:tiphat:

I've had problems with my neighbors, so I'm not defending your neighbor here. But you are responsible for what your landscaper did. Your neighbor has proven to be passive-aggressive and more than willing to escalate relatively minor incidents. Such escalations won't end well for anyone involved.

If I were you, I'd learn from this experience and try to avoid further confrontations with the guy. And I'd have a long discussion with anyone doing work on your property advising them to be neighborly toward your neighbors, and when they are done, I'd inspect not only my property but adjacent properties as well.

Good luck.
