not sure where that comes from... from what i've seen almost every exhaust promises you the same amount of power.

On paper, yes. But dyno figure tells different story. From what I've seen, FI dynos higher than many other exhaust out there

Stupid question... will the FI cat-back make any significant gains on a NISMO? I only ask because if I've read correctly the midpipes are different on those cars and that's where most of the extra 18hp supposedly comes from...

I'm sure there will be gains for the Nismo but it shouldn't be too significant. Some people in the forum dynoed a stock Z with the Nismo exhaust and got some gains but not as much as other aftermarket exhaust. And I'm assuming FI gains comes from smooth flow of the 2.5 inch pipe as a whole. Stock is 2 inch.

can't comment on that. i haven't seen each exhaust dynoed to be able to see the difference. based on what people have in their sigs, almost everyone comes to around the same whp.

not trying to knock anything against f.i.

Changing to TP's or HFC's is where you free up most of that hp. Any free flowing exhaust is going to net about the same. So on the exhaust front it really comes down to what looks and sounds best to you with your whole setup.

I contacted FI about their cbe and I'm leaning that direction. I also contacted Stillen and they hooked me up with conceptzperformance.com to get the best deal on a G3. Has anyone ever used them to order parts? Just in case anyone else is interested in the Stillen G3 Stillen told me to tell conceptz that Adam Hume sent me to get a deal on it. I'm also thinking Berk or Stillen HFCs but I'm still trying to figure that one out!

I've bought from conzeptz before. No issues whatsoever and would purchase from again.

What about upgrading the 370z intake plenum is this wise to do? Sorry for the Noob question. I am getting that ol so nice mod bug myself. My black z is daily driven and besides the transmission being tricky I love this car more than my old 2006 c6.

From what I've been reading (and I'm a newb too) it's rather expensive to get any meaningful HP gains out of this car without going forced induction. Back when I had a Mustang I could throw cheap parts at it and feel every one of them make a difference... With the Z you're already pushing 330+ HP out of a 3.7L v6 so there's not nearly as much room to grow on a N/A build. I'm just not sure dropping upwards of $4k on a tune, exhaust, intake, and some bolt-ons is worth it for like maybe 50 HP.

Just my :twocents:

I think a lot of Z owners just love the car and don't mind spending some dough to customize/upgrade it. Last summer I was thinking about replacing the Z and realized that buying something faster/more expensive would be a mistake because it just wouldn't be any more fun and definitely not as good looking.

I definitely get that. And from your sig you've been going about it the right way, with appearance and driveability mods that make you enjoy the car more, not necessarily make it go faster.

I sold my 05' G35 coupe with a Vortech supercharger that had 462hp to the wheels so I'd like to add so hp to my Z but not looking to add a turbo or sc on my Z right now. I know this is a matter of opinion and may spark some debate, but I'd like to add dual CAI, HFCs, etc. I'm thinking that I'd like all aftermarket parts to be from the same company, but if one company makes the best exhaust and another makes the best HFCs then I wouldn't be opposed to going with different manufacturers. Which company, in your opinions, make the best aftermarket products for my 11' Z? I was kinda leaned my to Stillen, but Injen, Berk and a few others make nice stuff too. Also, I was considering staying with all Nismo parts but I need help! Thanks in advance guys and I'll get some pics uploaded asap!

I think Berk makes the lightest HFC's. Their CBE is a little heavier than FI's I believe by like 5 lbs or so, but it's a great combo and quality stuff.

I agree, the more I look at possible mods and their cost vs hp gains the more I'm thinking that talking the wifey into getting STILLEN Supercharger System - Polished 407770P | STILLEN
Is the way to go!

Yeap... I just tried to post a pic of the email from Adam but I can't figure out how but it said for me to get the best deal to contact conceptz.
