What is the plastic piece under my car?

So, long story short, it ripped off and I need to replace it. Is it called a "Splash shield"? (http://www.carparts.com/details/Niss...7-3c6010095837)

The nissan dealership wanted 200$ to replace it, but they said if I buy it online, they'll put it on for free, so I figured I'll just buy the piece online for cheaper. Is that the correct one? Thanks

yah, or get the metal one from i think zspeed (?) i cant remember but there's a domestic manufacturer that sells metal ones with kitty door for your oil change.

kenchan 04-18-2015 08:28 PM

ck out mr.gale (GaleForce) build thread. he has one on. it's by zspeed and it is frikken nice.

louiey370z 04-18-2015 08:30 PM

Oh **** realized carparts.com is a horrible website. No wonder they're so cheap.

vtec to vvel 04-18-2015 08:32 PM

are you talking about the wide/big plastic piece that covers the bottom part of the engine? if so, how did that get ripped off?....

Chuck33079 04-18-2015 08:35 PM

Buy the zspeed aluminum one. It's a much better piece.

I talked to some guy from the dealership and i was told instead of paying the dealership directly (260$ for the piece), I can find one online for 60$~ and they'll do the install free. Any idea where I can find one for 60$~? I'm not tripping to much about it being aluminum or plastic, as long as the job gets done

Just get the aluminum one. It does a much better job. And install it for free? :roflpuke2::roflpuke2:
If it takes you more then ten minutes to install it you're doing something wrong.

Wow double slap in the face. That isn't a hook up the install is so easy it should be complementary. Bro for the dealer price your better off getting:ZSpeed Performance Aluminum Engine Splash Shield 370Z Nissan

The question is be4 u get it, are ur bumper hinges(?) Are ripped off? If so the new one ull get will not be able to be put it on all the way, and eventually it will fly off/bend, its still a problem.

Has anyone used the ZSpeed one with an oil cooler? Is it still easy to access the filter/hoses? (Is the oil change opening big enough?)

I just installed mine yesterday. Easy to put on and way way better than the plastic one. Plus you can change your oil without removing it because it has an access panel.

Sweet!! I purchased the same one and is arriving today. Will install along with my Stillen Gen 3 this weekend.

JARblue 04-22-2015 01:58 PM

OP, just get the ZSpeed aluminum one! Even if you find a used OEM one, chances are you're going to pay $100+shipping.

Jimbo370 04-22-2015 02:10 PM

look under parts for sale April22. bullitts parts for sale has an undercover tray for $100 in Ga if you want OEM. I bought the Z1 tray and it is worth the money and saves the hassle for oil changes.
