I went back and forth with this one also. In the end, NO spoiler/wing.

And I do say, I really prefer the subtle lines WITHOUT one.

And the hatch has such a sweet bump to it, which get's kind of hidden when the rear spoiler is added.

also, I might end up with less tickets in the long run, because it's a bit more stealthy!

to me, it's a no brainer: since a wing costs more money, if you are undecided then don't get it.

if you really like it then get it.

No problems to report with the nismo wing, nissan claims 150lbs of downforce but that hasen't been proven one way or the other, that might just be how much it weighs. :) IMO wings are more of an athestetic thing on production cars, no one really needs one even if you do track the car. I do wish the nismo wing was a little smaller though. I think the Z looks a little silly without at least the sport package spoiler on the back end. Just my $.02

The S-Tune is a great addition..totally changes the look of the car. I love it. I was lucky to not have a wing at all before the install so I didn't have to worry about the holes matching up. And it's not expensive at all.

I'm definitely in the anti-spoiler camp. They very rarely look good. They're called "spoiler" for a reason... The car looks best with no spoiler, in my opinion.

Give the wing a purpose. Yummmm
(if not purposeful, I like the sports wing the best)

 dannnnng that thing is about to fly!... I understand the functionality of the wing but could they have made it a little bit more sleek? Just my opinion

Sports package spoiler. Car looks unfinished without it in my opinion. That said, I would take the Z with no spoiler over the Nismo version or some of those large aftermarket options.

I have never seen a time attack car with a "sleek" wing, they look ridiculous but keep the a$$ end stuck to the pavement, so its a trade off. You wanna talk about ridiculous, look at Rado's time attack scion... Wings to da max!

i want my car to look like a race car and i don't believe there is a race car that doesn't have a wing. i am pretty sure all the formula 1 race cars have wings, all race cars at le mans have wings, etc.

true dat! but dammmmmmmm :iagree: I guess if you have a street car / track car then a slimmer and sleeker spoiler will look perfect... sport plus mines or even nismo.

mick 02-11-2010 03:19 PM

BMW also would put a wing on their high end m3 series.

angels and fast cars have got to have wings :)

^lol... i do agree! looks b@#chin...

Red370 02-11-2010 04:39 PM

that looks classy, and its adjustable, which makes it better, you can tune it to perfection.

blackflag 02-11-2010 10:56 PM

Classy?

The best combination of looks and performance, in my opinion, is usually Ferrari and Corvette... and look at how often they use spoilers. They "spoil" the look of the car.

I mean, if it's strictly a track car, then looks aren't important. But the car is gorgeous with no spoiler.

I aggree.

The Fcar is a super car. Big difference! At 200 mph on the Autobahn it has a purpose, on a car that drives 30 MPH it's irrelevant. I see way too many honda's, etc. with wings the size of 747's jets. Ridiculous IMO. Kind of like a beautiful woman with way tooooo much makeup, or smothering ketchup on a gourmet dinner. Very trailer trash. Why mess with something that's already perfect.

I still like my Z without the rear spoiler. Very clean and tasty appearance. Not overstated.

The stock Z spoiler is nice, not my cup of tea, but not over done.

blackflag 02-12-2010 10:35 AM

Agreed, Rich.

And I never really liked the look of the F40.

htt760 02-12-2010 01:14 PM

Rich I also agree, I guess you have to ask yourself whether you are actually goonna use the car for what it was made for, many have their cars for looks and style while others go for both style/looks and SPEED.. thats when the spoiler can come into play ( by that time when you are at the track people wont care what your car looks like but rather the time that is pulled from car. just my .02 cents
