Looks like a lot of buzz over the Nissan IMx electric autonomous vehicle in Tokyo. Perhaps that's the secret reveal nissan has been suggesting and not the new Z?

Well there you have it! I think that sports cars in general are a dying breed as far as the Japanese auto industry is concerned. Even if a new Z is ever released, it will most definitely have some sort of electric/hybrid motor(s). It looks like Nissan is not backing down from their electrification goals. It's become a plague that will be shoved down everyone's throats, like it or not.

This is all moving to fast for me. Like how can you change to electric vehicles so fast?! It gives me anxiety. Rest In Peace gas engines. Rest In Peace my love and passion for Nissan. I'm still keeping my z34 forever. 60k miles on my 2012 and still very strong.

What worries me is that this next generation of kids growing up are more interested in computer games and such then cars. No new car enthusiasts to replace us old farts. Believe the Japanese are the first to notice this. So they will only make cars they think that will sell. Basic people movers. The kids don't have a clue on what they are missing out on.

Only a few places I've been have plugs for electric cars right now. By 2025, you will see more of them. By 2030, they should be very common. If you are using a public charging station. It will take about 9hrs for a full charge for a Tesla, and cost about 8 cent per mile. Oh........there will be push back on the electric car. Because of cost of the cars, range, and the time it takes to recharge. Just wait until people see the cost of a replacement battery! It's about 1/2 the cost of the car.

Not to mention that disposal of the batteries is terrible for the environment. The environment that you're supposed to be saving by using a car that runs on electricity generated by coal, stored in batteries using heavy metals from strip mining. It's almost like people don't want to consider that their hippy golf cart is likely worse for the environment than a full size pickup once you factor in all the parts of the equation.
FL 4Motion, JARblue, Rusty and 5 others like this.

Yeah, look at the mining sites in Chile and other places.
