The increase in length was one of the first things I noticed when looking at the proto. I thought the top section looked pretty much like a 370, but that longer bonnet made a world of difference to me. Gave it a Jag/ Aston appearance, which is a nice touch IMO. Hopefully they're incorporating a lot of the carbon fiber materials that they've been boasting to slim her up.

But as for the weight, I doubt it would lighter.
Since they are using the same chassis as the 370z. And they have to improve on that.

I'll be in my bunk!

But high tensile steel and carbon fiber can improve the chassis and reduce weight.

THIS is f*cking sex. I don't care for a roadster, but imagine this as a coupe... If the production car looks like this and comes in this color I am buying one IMMEDIATELY.

Via @yasiddesign on Instagram.
It appears they changed the front with the follow:
"..a slightly longer hood,... front grill, just break it down just a little bit. And... slanted front nose.." and maybe tweaked the headlights just a tad

I mean this is just perfection. Aggressive yet sleek, clean, and beautiful at the same time. Realistically they probably can't extend the wheelbase as much as this, but even if they just change the front end to match this... ooooh f*ck me.

Sure does appear, using the same chassis, same weight.
Beef up the HP with a ready developed engine, looks like the plan.
Marketing wise,call it a 4O0Z that equals 400 HP.
Aftermarket guys will be busy promising to get it to the magic 500HP level.

I'm glad Nissan confirmed another Z is coming, but now we have even MORE questions than we did before.

I'm about 99% sure that the new Z will have blindspot alert. Look at the first image, that has to be a blind spot sensor on the side B pillar. Also, if you look closely at the interior image; the side mirror has a LED light indicator inside the mirror. I'd be willing to bet that is a blindspot warning light.

Nissan designs its own carbon fiber parts. So that in itself keeps costs down. The Nismo Z is expected to be a near $60,000 hybrid car. So if thats the case, Nissan will be forced to use carbon fiber parts to reduce weight.
If the alfa romeo can build a near almost all carbon fiber car for $60k? Nissan can utilize some in house carbon fiber to reduce weight. Our drive shafts and radiator housings are carbon fiber now. So im sure it could be used a little further.

A lot of people in this thread have highlighted how close to the Z34 platform it is.
In this video, I use some overlays of the Z Proto and the 370Z Nismo 2015+ showing where the additional length is...

I also talk about a few other things, including the aero issues with the shape that I think they'll use an active aero on the rear boot (like the F-Type)...
I thought some of you might be interested...

Why would it cause aerodynamics issues?
