Currently stock & don't have any problems pulling off from ss camaros,GT mustangs or smaller hemis in Challengers,,, but new camaro will require me to upgrade to compete.
(0-60 in 4.0sec. & low 12's qtr. Pretty good.) but that's with 125hp & 157tq at wheels more than my ~Z~

2015 US car sales:
Nissan 370Z - 6,529
FRS - 9,314
MX5 Miata - 7,153 (1,000+ a month for last 4 months, probably due to new design, sales 300 or under prior months)
Nissan Juke - 23,266
Porsche Cayman - 3,064
Corvette - 28,924

If you choose to compete in the inexpensive, small/light, lower powered segment. The 8 year old 370Z is already doing a decent job against the FRS & Miata.

Notice the Juke sales basically equals 370Z, FRS & Miata combined. Nissan may have cancelled the IDX because it feared that this market was too small for another car and/or it would have just taken it's own sales away from the Juke.

I'd opt for the V6TT 400 or higher hp Z and try to keep the price point and weight as close to the current Z as possible. As I mentioned earlier, you'd still at the very least retain your existing sales. Plus you'll steal some from the other small/light competitors and this gives you a real shot of taking a chunk sales from the largest seller in the 2 seat category, the Corvette. Whether you're a big fan of it or not, horsepower does not hamper car sales one bit.
FRS/BRZ was an engineer attempt at that. don't get me wrong, i see a lot on the road. they're neat little cars but after the honeymoon period the sales started falling off.

handles great? sure.

aesthetically appealing? sure.

got balls? not really. my cousin has the brz, he floored it and we zipped along. sure he can chirp is prius tires in third but it just didn't have the vroom vroom i like. the 2nd gear felt a bit limp.

So motor trend spotted the new Q60 uncovered on the streets (which looks really good) Badge on the front fenders shows "3.0t" Ladies and gentlemen I think it's safe to say we're expecting twins! Remors suggest 375 hp! Maybe Nismo we'll have more.

black_sedan's earlier post show 400hp for Q50. I think it's safe to assume the Q60 will be the same or more.

The engines were confirmed 2 years ago down to the boost gauge, but it was the one true fact everyone insisted was a rumor too. Lol
If u go back and check my old posts I would post confirmed articles n people still thought it a rumor... Lol

Just like now when I say the grip Z is there Z chassis. People say its rumor. Nissan made it obvious in the way they made the 3.0 obvious. But so much chatter has y'all doubting even the facts... Lol The only rumor there's that the will be a 3 door crossover. BUT THE Z WILL BE ON A MODIFIED VERSION OF THAT 2,500LB CONCEPT.

I GUARANTEE IT!

The real question is. How many more years? 3? 5? 7? Smh.

I won't be surprised if we go 3 years without a Z selling.

Riiiiight cuz if Nissan discontinued our Z? The 90's will repeat all over again and some members want their naturally aspirated, now outdated VQ37hr, that's in every infiniti, to somehow be the future past in automotive technology.... LMFAO. Cuz VVEL= racecar!

Yes "F&F 12, The rebirth." It will be 370z's riding under semi's and we'll be... KOOL!!!!

Give me a new Z. Please.

And soon.

looks like a new Z isnt coming "soon"

No new Nissan GT-R before 2020, Z-Car will live on

We also ask Tamura-san whether the 370Z is the last hurrah for the reborn Z car.

“At some time, everybody has to die,” he says. “When, we don’t know. There have been stories about the Z Car dying, and stories about a new version being released soon.

“Neither is true. These details are only in my head and no one at Nissan has said anything about any of this to journalists. No one knows about these things.

“The Z car will not die while I am working at Nissan though.”

OK Nissan...

So no new Z for quite a few more years

imagine they just re-released the 15'nismo as the new z35. just add a few curves, slim down the side, add a fender vent or two, punch a few holes into the door for some 'excotic looks' and swap the engine to the 3.0T.

so the z34 may turn into the 300zx of my generation?
