Thanks Zipper 104 at first I was against the rims but they are starting to grow on me.. I think they will be able to hold up better than the older nismo rims rock chips were murder just on the short time I had that car I would see new little nicks around the edges. I loved the color and style 13/14 nismo rays but the paint on them didn't seem to like rocks just like our bumpers and hoods lol

Life is too short to get hung up on relatively little things. In the future remember to be prepared to walk. This was your key mistake. You were very vested in getting the car,
you drove a long way, and the dealership used that to their advantage.

The credit reporting is normal: there is nothing you can do about that. They will run your numbers instantly with multiple banks, and you may take a 'hit' that will recover quickly. Credit reporting is a game. Want to not play it? Then remember in the future, have cash.

I financed part of a few cars in the past 3 years because rates are low and it gave me bargaining power but I was ready to simply write a check for the full amount if there were any shenanigans.

Funny how that goes a long way with the Finance manager to get the best rate, and in 2 of 3 cases they bettered my pre-approved rates by a quarter. Make them work for you.

Until then, enjoy the ride.

This brings up a question from me: If you are travelling some distance for a car, how do you go about it without letting the salesman know? Do you just contact them before hand, but play it off as if you live in town?

Congrats on getting everything worked out! At least now you can relax and enjoy what you were hoping to get right from the onset. Welcome to the club man!

Wow that's a lot of hell to get a car , good thing it worked out

Happy, Happy, Happy!

Glad you stuck to your guns! It takes a lot of years to learn how to deal with dealerships. My best line is " I don't have much time. I just thought I'd stop by...I have an appointment in X minutes "
I must say I am real happy with Clear Lake Nissan, in the Houston area. (New car).
Cheers

Wow, you were really determined to get that Nismo, weren't you?
You should have walked out while you were ahead.....right from the get go.
This should be stickied, "How NOT to go about buying a car".

Seriously though, best of luck with getting things under control. Those guys were scumbags but you let 'em get away with it.

You should have seen pictures, high res taken in daylight at the least before going. Upon arrival and after the test you should have left without the car!

Never discuss financing until after you see and test the car.
Also the financing talk would have been after the test and inspection and agreed upon price-- after the car is found to be acceptable - The input would have been ' I have my own' and ended that entire episode.

IM late to the party but this is how not to buy a car 101. This should be a sticky.....
That being said - Nice new car!

In the future, get financing in advance from your own bank or credit union and do not disclose how much your were approved for to the dealership. In the end, if you make the sale, you will cut them a bank check for whatever amount you needed.

Financing through dealerships is always a bit of a racket -- they may or may not get you a better rate, but either way, it means additional kickbacks are probably going on you will never know about, and shopping around, as you found, will result in multiple credit dings (a stupid, unfair rule, BTW).

Anyway, I only skimmed, but if your situation boils down to possible false advertising/lemon law stuff and you want the dealership to buy back the car or offer some form of compensation it seems like your best recourse would be to consult with an attorney.

Oh it's resolved through Nissan now. And yes I already was approved through my credit union which is who I switched the financing to a week later they got me that's fine in 6 months it shouldn't have much weight on my score but dropping me 60 points really pissed me off I'm not going to lie
