Question about safety in 370z.

Hey guys,

I currently have an '06 350z base. The car does not have VDC/traction control. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with both models (350z base -> 370z sport) as far as driving in the rain. Would a 370z be safer and more predictable in the rain versus a base 350z? I came upon a great deal on a 370z+sport and wanted to convince myself to buy the car :-)! Thanks all in advance.

tires alone the Uni-T works very well in the rain. :p

I live in Houston (it rains all the F#cking time), with VDC on I havent had any problems with traction. Remember that tires also play a factor in this.

Tires and the way you drive in the rain are the biggest safety factor.

Idont really feel too confident with the RE50s in the rain - I am going to throw on my Toyos for the winter and my stockers back on for the summer

VDC (traction control) will help in the rain.

I drive in the rain all the time in my 350z without vdc, never had a problem. Are you having problems in your 350z? The 370z will be a little more safe. Just buy it if you can afford it, you shouldn't try to justify buying it because of vdc.

Thanks all for the replies:

azn370z: Thanks a lot for your advice. I notice that, you too, also own an 06 350z. We both have similar colors too. I am really just trying to find reasons to convince myself to get the new car. I really like the looks and new amenities that I do not have currently. My car is already paid off, so having a car payment, albeit relatively small, would be a negative. I have not appraised my car, but I can imagine how much I would get on a trade in. The dealership is basically selling the 370z for 29,999(base+sport) + ttl, including a lifetime power train warranty. Decisions to make.... Thanks again guys.

With all the improvements in the 370 over the 350, I'm not sure VDC should be the decision point!

In this video you can see how the 370z traction control is much superior than the 350Z.

I live in Austin.....I wish it would rain. :yum: No chance to test one way or the other.
