Upgraded stereo, amp, and speakers have eliminated all road noise for me.

Lol for a floor mat! I'd rather DIY. Much easier than a full sound deadening job, or a great additional piece to sound deaden.

I have an 09 and I literally just call people back when driving unless I put the phone to my ear. Usually I put it on speaker but while in motion I just shut up and drive. Great excuse to ignore people while I'm out doing some spirited driving.

I might try insulating the trunk and probably getting some spray in liner in the wheel wells to see it it dampens the noise. The wide tires seem to pick up rocks outside of the standard 225 max of most passenger cars.

Indeed, the OEM tires make a spooky howling sound at around 140 in addition to being noisy at any speed. The Michelin tires I replaced them with don't do that. That'll never change though, as these are manufactured in Japan, Nissan has a really big incentive to go with Bridgestone.

A Z is going to produce more road noise then a regular car but the tires have much to do with it.

As a rule I think you can always expect to feel every road imperfection and hear alot of noise..more so then say a sedan.

If you remove the upper carpet in your truck you will notice a plastic type piece that goes over your spare. I put sound insulation there and it removed alot of that noise.

Well I don't know whats standard throughout the years but my has 2 layers of carpet in the back trunk and a foam peice under that. Regardless, I'm quiet happy with the sound level. Maybe I was expecting worse before buying.

Where I live the roads are in pretty bad condition, and with every pothole, crack, and dip you can really hear (and especially feel) it in my '15 base model. The noise is minimal on the freeway though or driving over nicely paved roads. I am currently waiting on the arrival of a Fast Intentions CBE, so hopefully that helps block out the sound :)
