Winding down noise under hood when shutting car off
I've tried to figure this out on my own, but can only come up with two possibilities. When I shut the car off, I hear what sounds like a high revving component slowing down. I'm guessing either the fuel pump (which I have never heard on other cars before) or the DC motor for the VVEL. Anyone know?

It's the secret alien technology turbine winding down. Pretty soon someone in a black suit and sunglasses will ask you to look at a little pen with a light on it and all these troubles will go away :)

I personally love the sound, its my rocket ship.

I guess we really have to break out the new technology in the new Nissan 370Z to really know what it has...I know with Toyota, sometimes after 15-20 minutes, you will hear a soft noise of a motor running for like 5-10 minutes...the vehicles have a computer system that once in awhile turns on to check all mechanical and electrical parts to make sure the vehicle is working properly...
With the new Prius, once the vehicle is turned of, you will hear engine still working while it draws the hot water from the car, and store it in a thermal bin so the next time you start the car, your car will have the hot water already. This is something deeply mechanical in the car that most salespeople learn but never pass onto their customer |
