Would you buy this?

I was thinking about having 50 or so clear third brake light lenses made and offering them to fellow 370 owners. I wanted to first start a feeler thread to see how many of you would be interested. If enough are I will start a small production run.

DEpointfive0 01-26-2015 02:52 PM

3rd or 4th?

LAVA 01-26-2015 02:57 PM

kenchan 01-26-2015 03:00 PM

LAVA 01-26-2015 03:06 PM

kenchan 01-26-2015 03:15 PM

They sell the rear bumper fog light in clear, not the 3rd brake light.

DEpointfive0 01-26-2015 03:35 PM

I wish... I bought a Amuse wing for the clear 3rd brake light!!! Lol

I'd still consider depending on the price.

Masterbeatty 01-26-2015 06:09 PM

It might look good with the JDM clear rear lights. But with the stock red lights and fog light blank it might look odd which is why I voted against it.

Might be less confusing if you include HMSL (High Mounted Stop Lamp) somewhere in your post. Maybe not.

And I no longer have a Z, so my answer is no.

It would probably only work, or look good for the people with JDM tails

cooltoy 01-26-2015 08:02 PM

I have one for sale you can use as your R and D model.

Good point, I figured everyone knew what a 3rd brake light was.

Lol, you guys are making me feel like the moron! Lol

I was just checking. Because I'm in the market for a 4th/fog light in clear, and I'll pay a LOT for one.

Nut_N_Much 01-26-2015 08:57 PM

I love reading your thread. You guy's are a trip! :rofl2:

If its clear would we have to use red bulbs. Sounds different, I'm in.

There are mirrored bulbs that light up red, but don't look red.

All in good fun. You dah Man! :driving:

Color me confused. Wouldn't a clear brake light sort of give the person behind you the impression that you were in reverse gear?

The more I hear about the differences between the US and JDM Z, the more it makes sense to leave that stuff in Japan.

Or LEDS as when not powered they are clear plus the convince of long life span

Tadpole 02-05-2015 08:10 PM

Wouldn't be my thing. They use to look good some years ago but have lost their appeal over the years

TexasChuck 02-06-2015 09:43 AM

Flashing Third Light

I like the LED modular control that makes the 3rd light flash when the brake is applied, alerting the guy behind u just a little bit more (hopefully!)

OldFart 02-06-2015 12:08 PM

I have the clear JDM tails - I would definately be in for this. Please tell though I don't have to remove the spoiler to replace the unit...

Since it will not make the car go faster, I will say what Russell Wilson said when asked if he would win the game,"Nah I think I'll pass." :icon17:
