new tires do not need an alignment the TPMS does need to be synced though at a dealer with their special wireless sync tool. At least thats what the manual said but some other shops could probably do it.

I was browsing the selection at tirerack. Do you think I'll need spacers for the rear if I get rims with a 35mm offset? I didn't see any staggered winter combo at tirerack.

Portlis, isn't the bigger issue the clearance of the front chin spoiler?
Seeing how the car is so low to the ground, I presume that any traction gained by adding winter tires would be offset by the low clearance. Seeing how you live in MN, when it snows, it really SNOWS, so u may want to consider skipping the snow tires and getting a second car for winter. Also, even if u have traction, do u really want to drive your new car in the winter and run the risk that another car bumps into yours? Winter is when most accidents occur, especially being rear ended. What good is traction, if the cars around you don't have it. Just a thought. Martin |
Just go to thetirerack.com they have winter tire and rims for the Z. You should go with 225/50-18 front and back, like tire rack recommends. A 245 is too wide for good traction in snow. Hell 225's are too wide really but you can't put anything smaller on there. Go with the Blizzak LM-60.
