Bought my new 2014 Nismo in June of this year and paid $37,000. After Tax Title and Reg I think it was somewhere about $39,000 OTD. Had to go out of state for it.

Local dealer had the same exact car in MA but wouldn't budge from $41K. I showed them the offer I had from the out of state dealer for the $37K and said I would do $39K +TT and Reg if they wanted to do the sale because it would cost me about $2K in travel and my time, but they said no. The car was also sitting on their lot for over a year or so.

Their argument is that they paid cash for the car so they would hold it until they got their $41K for it. I was surprised at that point they didn't want to move it even if to free up some cash at that point. I also got other offers right around $37K from multiple other dealers out of state on all colors.

Long story short - In my opinion for a lot of the prior year nismo's its how much the dealer is willing to take in a loss on the new car. I would venture to say that most Nismo's are probably a loser for most dealers and hard to move unless you luck out with a very particular buyer.

I also looked at a lot of used 2014 Nismo's and while I didn't pursue them I found the asking price to be around $33K for them with low miles. I did a carfax on one of the local ones and found it come back with electrical issues noted. At that point I said screw it. It was worth the extra money for me to know I was getting new car with no issues with full warranty. Plus, seems that the Nismo's hit a bit of a depreciation wall in the upper $20Ks. Thought process is that if I drive the car for about 4-5 years it will cost me roughly $3-4K in depreciation a year which isnt too bad considering a lease on "normal cars" ($300/month *12 = $3600/year)

private seller, the last owner of the car took very good care of it. she bought the car CPO with 900 miles back in early 2011 , January iirc. car has a hair over 16,000 miles now

JMZ 10-08-2015 10:06 PM

Just bought my 2015 Nismo base mt with 4k miles for $34,500.

Riptide67 10-09-2015 01:45 AM

Got my 2009 for 26k with 45k miles on it. Previous owner traded it in for 25k. Car had $18k in modifications. Both previous owners were in my local Nissan club. It was extremely well maintained and cared for.

Sold my 09 sport for 28k a couple weeks prior.

Saldollarsox 10-09-2015 07:49 AM

I think got the deal of the year. I payed 34k for my red 15 Nismo Tech with auto transmission. I didn't want an auto, but for that price I could live with it. The car had 5k on the odometer. MSRP was over 47k. Huge upgrade from my base 15 that I traded.
The dealership appraised it sight unseen as a base tech, and when it arrived was a Nismo! lol needless to say I took advantage of it.

And I thought I stole my 2014

nismo2evox 10-09-2015 07:59 PM

That's insane! It will be interesting to see if the 2015 & 16's depreciate faster and surpass the 09-14s or if the 09-14s will just plummet off a cliff

This is exactly what I'm looking for. If you don't mind me asking, was it private sale or dealer?

Check the Nismo section in the 2015 Nismo registry thread. There is another person that just posted about buying a similar car for 34k as well.

In my research, it seems as if the base Nismo 6mt is more popular in the midwest and eastern U.S.

What part of Florida are you in?

Rare Z 12-24-2015 03:16 PM

In 2011 I paid 36,500 for a 2011 used with only 280 miles on it. I think I did ok.

Thanks! I'm in North Florida, in Jacksonville. There's an Autonation Nissan dealer south of me in Clearwater that has a 2016 Nismo listed for $37,999. I'm in the process of trying to figure out what the catch is with it. If I could get it OTD at $38k I might go down there to get it.

If it's new for that price that would be far below invoice. Looks like a used car price.

It's listed as new and has 19 miles on it. I'm wondering if it's a typo.

Skinzaholic 12-26-2015 01:53 PM

I just got my first Z, 2009 Nismo with 13,000 miles. It has coil overs and AAM short pipes added. Paid $23k from a private seller but I did add a 10 year/100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty from my Credit Union for another $1,600

OptionZero 12-31-2015 12:57 PM

2015 Nismo TECH, Pearl White.. 6spd. A shade over $21k miles, clean history on Carfax.

Bought from used car dealer for $38k. This is in Bay Area of CA.

solidus 02-01-2016 10:21 PM

Just bought last week. 2015 Nismo tech . Nissan Dealer 2 miles from my house was asking 38,900.00 . I told them I could travel an hour and get a 2016 Nismo Tech with 3000 less miles for 2k more in the color I actually wanted. I had got a quote from the other dealer along with a copy of a buyers order for my bank. The dealer around the corner called me at 850pm and asked what it would take to make the sale and I told them 36600.00 out the door. They hung up and called back to accept a deposit. Took a week for me to pick up the car due to a broken femur. I have driven the car a grand total of 2.5 miles since I took the long way home 7 days ago.

smokinsound 02-02-2016 07:16 AM

First time poster here... (Working on an intro) Just picked up my first Z last week.

CPO 2013 Nismo 23,000 miles $30,185 OTD w/ 84 mo/100,000 mile Nissan warranty & 5 year tire & wheel protection.

Hopefully that's fair price. I'm on the fence!

Looks that way on paper.

But, it's pretty hard to find a 09 with only 10k miles. With the limited updates through the years, and the Z being a relatively simple machine (compare to the Germans, and that warranty is not as big of a deal), you may take the perspective of that you received a big discount on a next to brand new car.

Congrats and enjoy :driving:
