You could always do what I did and keep the Z and get a sensible, responsible, safe SUV. For me, that was a '14 SRT Grand Cherokee. The GC is like the best selling SUV right now and the SRT is a frickin blast to drive. Cheaper than a Porsche or MB or BMW, and still fast as hell. Plus you can even take it to the track! I even have a dog bed in the back. Made sense to me...

Yes I have been down that road too guys and gals. I was a father at the ripe old age of 20 and I had a 70 camaro then. Over the next 25 years I have seen my kids grow and go sacrificing my love for sports cars especially the two seaters but that is how it goes. Family comes first, pay your dues, then drive what you want later. I bought my Z brand new and couldn't be happier and I'm certainly not rich by any means. Good luck to you young and fixing to be parents. Your kids are well worth the 20 or so years in your life.

Get a SRT8, 300, Charger or Jeep. All the power and room you'll need. I have a Steel Blue Magnum SRT8 (vey rare) that I bought over a C6 back in 07 because I had a newborn as well, but it was my 2nd favorite car so it was a win win for me in either case. I now have a SRT8, Nismo, SmartCar, Lincoln LS and VW CC (wife's car) which I can all use for a number of things. The SRT8 and Nismo are strictly for me cause my wife gets on my dam nerves when she's in either one of them, the SmartCar is for commuting to work and the Lincoln really serves no purpose other than just being a guest car for my sister when she's home from the service. The SRT8 can haul the entire family with a trunk full of groceries and still walk on 90% of whatever's on the highway at any given time, it's an awesome car for what it is, big, heavy, but will spin circles around my Nismo all day long and reek havoc on anything with 400 plus hp.

Want even more? Add forced induction to that 5.0 and flip GTR owners the bird as your car eats theirs for lunch for less than half the cost.:p

And then you wake up

JC-Nismo 10-17-2014 01:46 AM

^^^ So you disagree with that? A blown 5.0 won't beat a GTR???

I'm not an expert in this, but GTRs have been raping pretty much everything in drag racing. It seems like NO ONE runs a stock GTR. They kill on a regular in the non sanctioned Mexico racing.

I get that, but his response is like no 5.0 can beat a GTR.

I was on the fence not to long ago myself. I have two boys a 4 month old and a 3 year old. My fiance has a 13 Highlander, and I drive a 05 Altima as my beater and during the winter.

Please, please, PLEASE talk some sense into me ladies and gents!

For the price of a 5.0 it's a good option imo. Just stay away from the Camero SS... I test drove one last week and was underwhelmed by the overall driving experience. If I was looking into a family car I would take a look at the Chevy SS that sedan is a BEAST!

If there are young kids in the picture you want a four door, not just a four seater. Wrestling a kid and child seat into the backseat of a two door is not something you want to be doing a lot of.

I don't know...It's just a Malibu with a serious drivetrain

And Z's and G's are just glorified Datsuns lol.
