Back Problems
 

Anyone have back issues after a year of driving this thing? My lower back starts to hurt when I drive it now. I hope its just my Judo/JiuJitsu abuse but when I take a break from driving it, i feel better.

I've never had a problem in my Z34, I DD it on swift R springs. Though I once had a problem like this in my S14, and I figured it out it was my wallet in my back pocket that was causing it. I carry my wallet in my front pocket now, and have had no issues sense.

I don't drive the Nismo daily as it's not an ideal car for that, but when I do take it out it's usually on longer trips. However I have never felt uncomfortable in the Z seats, as they provide good support and can be adjusted for a good driving position.

What would probably be tiring is a lot of getting in and out if the car, or using a very stiff suspension.

i dont carry a wallet in my back at all.. Quit doing that a long time ago.
Maybe its a combo if my training for so long and the seats...

I find that driving the Nismo actually improves my posture over other cars. Long trips are more comfortable than they would be in cars that should be better. Not sure if it's the quality of the seats or something, but it feels better to me.

The touring seats are much better and more supportive. Well documented issue on the forum

The Nismo's racing seat is not exactly the most comfortable. I play around with the seat settings all the time until it's comfortable only to have to readjust it after getting something from the back of the seat or wearing different shoes. Once you get that sweet spot, it's pretty comfortable until something else changes.

I can tell you one thing, driving the Nismo isn't going to make your back feel BETTER, that's for sure.

Personally I do not find the Nismo to be that rough of a ride. Before I purchased the car I was reading all over the place that people were complaining about how rough the ride is. I expected it to be a little rough because it is a sports car but I think it's comfortable.

It's really only uncomfortable when you are on some chopped up roads. But then again, only SUVs will be smooth on something like that.

Yup I don't have problem with it. I just put about 400 miles on mine in the last couple of days but I guess I would not have notice anyway as I was high on Boooost after leaving SpecialtyZ. Just received some coil overs today so I'm thinking that will improve the ride even more.

I have Tien S tech lowing spring and they ride much better than stock beside lowering the car a little.

I was having back problems as well but attributed it my training to wrestle bears. Bears will fock up your back.

i feel ya OP on the back issue. the seat makes you sit with pretty good posture. i guess sometimes i get lazy in the seat and slouch.

i could also go for a little better foam material on the sides of the seat bottom. mine are wearing thin after 3 years.

I stopped driving with my wallet in my back pocket many many many moons ago. It' never felt right sitting on a one sided lump. As for the Nismo's ride itself. Well, it's a bumpy ride for sure. Anyone that say it isn't are is crazy. It's rough and bumpy. On everyday driving I'm ok with it though. It's the longer hauls that get me. The lack of lumbar adjustment sucks. I actually grab a small towel and fold it up for lumbar support if I plan to drive a while tank in one go. I drive 25 miles or so to work and then 25 home 3x a week. Overall, I don't mind it ride because it's a small sacrifice for having a sport car.

My back actually feels better now, I am thinking its due to the cold weather and previous injuries. Not actually the seat. And yes, I tend to not sit in it right.. I catch myself doing that and correct my posture from time to time.
