NISMO Rear hatch rattle?

Wondering if anyone else having issue with rattling around the latch area?

Took it to dealer and they replaced 2 parts but those parts did not fix the issue.

I know there is a post on this and this is where I got the trick of the penny in the hole. That post did not really featured anyone got this problem fixed. So I just wanna check if someone had it fixed and how did they fix it? Spent at least 4 days up till now at dealer and had 50 extra miles from them the noise is still here. They said they can only do some further tuning and I hope that doesn't mean they need to tune it bit by bit and drive another 200 miles. Really getting on my nerve and want to get rid of this stupid rattle!

Thanksssss

I didnt want to mickey mouse it by putting a penny in the plastic piece so i took the plastic piece off in the trunk and lowered the latch about a 1/4 inch and no more rattle. Its due to Nissan not making a tweak on it with the Nismos with the big heavy wing that pushes down more then a normal Z.

I will tell you after you do this you need to hit the trunk pop button twice most of the time but it was well worth it for no rattlling.

It took like 15 min to do.

I used to have a rattle from the hatch area by the latch.... then I got rear ended and the rattle went away lol. Just a bit of a disclaimer, I do NOT recommend this procedure, it may be a bit drastic for most.

I had the problem of not pop the trunk with 1 hit already for a while and I got it fixed with their service bulletin. You saying thats gonna happen again after I fix the rattling?

I occasionally have a rattle that sounds like it is from that area, but in actuality, it's the stupid caps on each end of the roll bar. I just slide it out bend the little tabs a little and slide them back in.

i think it was the problem of the hatch not fully closed. the rubber outside of the strut was getting compressed constantly and having this squiggling sound. Gonna take it to another dealer and have them tune out the space for the rear hatch door for a fine fit. will see how it goes.

... I just turn my stereo up!

I don't like to ever bring my car to the dealer personally... You will end up with more problems then you went there with. You just need to do it yourself and fine tune it. I don't really mind popping it 2 times vs the annoying rattle...

I fixed mine with a couple pieces that i made at work to fit in under the hatch stops. They are rubber bumper spacers that eliminate the hatch clasp rattling noise that is oh so annoying!

Whereabouts do those go? I can pretty easily chop up some extra rubber to make some spacers, just not sure where to put them to lessen the rattle.

there are 2 holes right next to the lock where you can fit a penny inside. thats wat I have in my Z... 2 pennies. Gonna see if I can find some rubber fits in there tomorrow.

update: got it fixed. bought a pack of sticky rubber buttons from Target. Now the problem is I cant shut the trunk lid with ease force... I just never can get it perfect!

I put 2 pennies in each hole in the trunk. 1 was not enough, 2 is perfect and no issues closing.

For the stuck trunk issue, a little WD-40 on the hatch dampers does wonders.

Used to put 1 in each and was fine closing but not opening. Dealer changed the rubber strut (perhaps a bit longer now) so when I put something in the holes, the trunk lid doesn't shut unless I slightly use some force to lock it in. but it solves the problem! i don't have to listen to the rubber squiggling all the time and those buttons are clear so they look just fine.
