HFCs to LTHs

Have any Nismo drivers tried HFCs first and then gone to LTHs?

I'm getting antsy again... not sure if the price difference plus the sunk cost of the HFCs is worth the difference, so I'd like to hear some first-hand accounts if there are any.

Also, I'm curious: With test pipes, it'd be easy to go back to stock if/when you have to pass a sniffer test. With long tube headers, that would be either a very costly or very time-consuming endeavor (or both). How do you manage this event when it comes up?

TIA.

If you are on Facebook and join the group 370z Nismo owners, there is a guy whos on there alot named Tyler who has LTH on his nismo. He used to have test pipes, he might have some info, dont know his name on the forum though. He might "know someone" who gives him a free pass, ect.

The emissions test depends on where you live. There's plenty of places where there's no sniffer, and if there's no CEL you're good to go.

Installation of TP took 2 hrs on mine with a pro getting a little help from another guy. Might take the same time going back to stock. Hope this helps in anyway.. Peace!!

Mine were a bitch the first time and every subsequent time it's only taken like an hour, maybe

I should clarify that I have HFCs installed already... but I'm wondering if the LTH guys are just screwed when it comes sniffer time... I live in WA; I'm pretty sure they just look for CELs, but not positive.

I have the F.I. LTH's and have ZERO issues with emissions and NO SES lights

In Illinois we do not have a sniffer test, just OBD so people with the LTH's are having no issues. They also have not thrown an CEL's with having the LTH's so they've been fine there too. I would definitely try finding out if there is a sniffer test or not. I believe you guys have OBD II tests in WA if I'm not mistaken.

It depends on which state you live in, and how they doing the testing. If like Cali, when they do a visually and a sniffer. LTH's are screwed. If you live in a state where they only plug into the ALDL under the dash, and just check the computer. Long as you have no CEL or have anything disabled in the computer. You should be good to go.
