If this is the case, then repainting will not fix anything. Might as well just leave it the way it came from the factory and live with a little peeled paint on that crease. There shouldn't be any issues with rust and from what I have seen it shouldn't be visible from more than a couple feet away.

Well mine was just repainted so I'll let you know how it goes.

So is this your second time getting it repainted? My dealership said on repaints Nissan doesn't warranty the paint anymore since its no longer from the factory. Any of this true? How was this last experience?

No this was my first. They never put me in touch with the body shop either so it will be up to them to deal with them if it happens again.

Gotcha, hope the paint holds for you.

I am a Newb here on the 370z forum. I am strongly considering a 10' Nismo. #156. But after reading this thread, I am not so sure. I absolutely can not stand paint issues. I will inspect the car that I am looking at very closely for this peeling issue. Of which, I am sure it will have. I have not seen what the problem actually looks like. But I will notice it, if it has it. Kind of sucks... As I was really looking forward to this purchase. Everything else about the Nismo is great. Maybe I will have to reconsider that M3. Atleast I will not have to worry about shotty paint. Lol.

It seems to be more common in the non-metallic paints from what I've seen.

Good to know. I will look for it. If I do see the isuue, I will have my friend at the local Nissan dealer run the VIN to see if it has had it's first 'approved" repaint.

You are correct. Paint issues will be the LEAST of your worries.

Does anyone have any more info on this? Anyone out there that got another bumper, did that sort this out? I had that same peeling issue on my front bumper, took it back and after some battles with Nissan they agreed to repaint the bumper, and guess what, it started again 2 weeks later, so annoying.
