I'm thinking about putting the carbon fiber inserts on the side mirrors, door handles and stereo area inside. Any opinions on this? Any recommendations on a particular brand or manufacturer? Thanks!

Finally installed my Stillen Gen 3 on my Nismo!

Completed the Stillen Generation 3 on my 2013 Nismo. The install took 4.5 hours. I did not remove the top part of the engine cover or any of the engine supports. I definitely feel more low end power and a little deeper engine noise. The bumper was easier to remove than I thought but its not for the faint at heart! I was really concerned when I first pulled on it but it came off just as this forum reported.

I want to thank all of the members that were a part of the DIY install. It was a GREAT HELP!: http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...de-ak370z.html

When I first did mine. Taking the front bumper off reminded me of taking the fairings off my sport bikes. Almost the samething.

Thank you. It's just a step by step process of where I'm taking the Nismo to. Still alot of things I want to do to it. BBK, coil-overs, seats, etc. :D

Thank you. :tiphat: I want to make so that anyone else follow me and do the samethings. It's really not that hard for what I have done. Just a little pricy on some stuff. LOL I'm waiting on "phuck" and his fuel starving kit to get done. That will be my next project I think. :D

What's your take on the Uprev? I see you have it. Would this be a good addition now? Do you think I would see much difference without other performance upgrades like exhaust etc...?

street2soul 09-25-2012 12:22 AM

hey DavidB, if you don't mind asking, what do you think is reasonable price for 2013 nismo with Bose and Rearview?

I got an increase of 23 RWHP with just tuning on top of what my mods got me. This plus the removal of the throttle delay really makes a difference in how the car feels when you drive it. Much more responsive now.

Is removing throttle delay a physical part or is this part of the computer tuning?

I think it's reasonable to pay under invoice on everything. I used New Cars, Used Cars, Car Reviews and Pricing - Edmunds.com and Haggle-Free Car Buying Experience from Local Dealers - TrueCar to get the dealers actual cost on everything. I negotiated with below invoice cutting into the hold back dollars which is what the dealer gets above and after the car sale. This is why dealer can sell below invoice because of this hidden profit.

All done with tuning. Your gas pedal is not physically connected to the throttle body. Stock programming will only move the throttle body a fraction of what your foot is actually pushing on the pedal. This is done so that your average driver does not floor the pedal in first and wrap the car around a pole as soon as they leave the dealership (or anywhere else).

Tuning will remove some (not all) of that delay and allow for a more direct correlation between your foot movement and the throttle body opening.

Here is a new 2013 Magma Red NISMO for $42,678. It has Bose and the backup camera. MSRP $46,360

That is definitely a reason to get the tuning. I am going to contact Uprev tomorrow. Thank You!

Love the new darker wheels, especially with the black body.

Sorry to hear about that. But don't sweat it. It's just a car. If you need to sell it, sell it.

I had a '08 Vette (as well as a house) I had to sell when my economic situation went south, so I feel your pain.

You'll bounce back and things will work out.

I finally used the Bluetooth connection for my phones. The good news is that I was able to add 2 different phones. The bad news is that both can't be connected at once. Only one can be active at a time. After it is registered in the car and you connect on the phone it deactivates the other one. This is surprising.

My wife's Audi does the same. Cant imagine needing two phones though.

Yes, not two phones at once :) I have my regular and work phone with me all the time. So only the activated phone rings through the bluetooth in the car. If my other phone rings, it is not connected and I would have to use my bluetooth ear piece to talk. This is a waste. I assumed both were able to receive calls through the car if I received a call. But when you go into the bluetooth connection set up on the phone and click on enable, the car disables the other phone... and visa versa... My Bluetooth Motorolla has the ability to register two phones and switch between whichever phone rings. It will say call on phone 1 or call on phone 2. I just assumed an option that is included for $2000 plus with the Bose would have an advanced capability better than a $50 Bluetooth ear piece. :( No biggie, I still love the car!!!

I just set up an appointment to have my car put on the Dyno and have the UpRev tuning. They mentioned installing a Plenum Spacer. They were going to find a manufacturer and get back to me. Does anyone know of or have a recommendation on this?

I thought the dual intakes eliminated (for the most part) the benefits of the plenum spacer? I thought that was just an issue on the single intake 350Z's?

I might be wrong.

I have checked all around and you are correct. No one makes it for the 370Z, it was a 350Z thing. I'm going next Saturday to have my car put on the Dyno and have the UpRev software installed. I had an appt. today at another place but cancelled it. The guy seemed to know nothing about the 370Z strangly enough. The other place specializes in Z's.:driving:

I noticed some posts have the full picture and most have a thumbnail that you can click on to enlarge. How do you post with the large version instead of the thumbnail?

If you have your picture hosted/uploaded somewhere on the internet, like photobucket, then there is an insert image button located on top of your message text editor where you can place the URL of your picture into it.

The Bose stereo is great! It is one of the reasons I waited for the 2013. It also comes with satellite radio.
