how to keep engine cool ?
what should i put in my nismo to keep the engine running cool all the time?
thanks |
a vented hood is about the only option that i can think of, short of dropping in a window unit...j/k

Open your hood and blow as hard as you can on the engine.

Because we all know when you say engine cool, you mean oil cool. ;) |

Vented hood is probably the best bet. I know under the hood of my car is crazy hot, could cook road kill after a quick drive. |
It's all about oil temps. A vented hood will help keep heat soak out of the bay in general and might drop your oil temps a few degrees, but the critical thing here is to get an oil cooler going if you're having engine heat problems. Nothing else will completely solve the problem.
Unless your normal usage (whatever that might be, commuting or auto-x or ....) is putting your oil temp gauge up in the 250+ range on a regular basis, I wouldn't even worry about it too much, tbh. |

Normally a dot or two before the middle is perfectly normal I've yet to notice the temp go up even on a 90º+ day |

Liquid Nitrogen coolant? :ugh2: |
You can try Redline waterwetter along with a larger aftermarket radiator. Vented hood with an oil cooler and you would be good to go.

I think the #1 best thing for cooling this VQ engine is an oil cooler. Otherwise, you might want to pop the hood open when you park for short periods of time. And, drive moderately hard. That'l help cool the engine.
|
If you mean the motor, change the ratio of coolant to water to favor water.
Nothing absorbs heat like water. If you mean the engine oil, those Arc cool fins do actually work. Buy 2-3 sets and place on bottom of oil pan. Expect a 10+*F drop. I'm serious. That won't do for the track, of course. For that you need an oil cooler of some sort, preferably with a thermostat set to about 200 F* even. |
Also if you get an uprev tune you can set the fan to come on at a lower temp, seems to be helping

Ice cubes? Such a small amount of info you gave us. If your talking about oil do a search.

Aside from what was listed above, a true radiator ducting setup around the fascia opening directing 100% of the air into the radiator could be a possibility.
1) Oil Cooler 2) Water/Coolant mixture adjustment 3) Radiator 4) Hood (IF DESIGNED PROPERLY!!!) 5) Ducting |
