How much does this car weigh?
Inside the door jam it says GWVR 3986
Does that mean it weighs 3,986lbs ????
Isn't that heavy for a sports car ?

3314 lbs. according to Nissan's website.

The GWVR number is maximum weight allowed including passengers, cargo, etc.

isnt it GWWR (given weight with riders)

but yea its closer to 3300-3400 lbs.

GVWR = Gross Vehicle Weight Rating

The Nismo is actually heavier then the base and touring.:(

3,986lbs , if you and your girl weight 300lbs each.

According to R&T, the touring weights 3,425 and the Nismo is 3,300. I believe the base weights 3,200lbs.

These weights are with full tank of gas, all fluids no passengers.

Does this include the sports package as well or is that just the weight of the touring w/o sports package and base model w/o sport? Will the sport package add extra weight if so roughly how much?

it weighs more due to the beefed up suspension.

And body kit...

And due to bigger brakes, (same as with SP), and front and back tires are 1/2" wider than sport which adds weight. Also stiffener bars and front and rear dampers.

I can't find info on SP because its a package, like Nav package. They only post into on trim levels.

actually i think the nismo wheels are almost the same weight as the sport 19" wheels. yes they are wider but not much heavier.

and yes the beefed up suspension and body kit add weight. or maybe the retarded expensive spoiler actually has gold in it..... :)

Yeah my Nismo was around 3200 lbs with running near empty. The nismo bodywork, chassis dampers, big brakes, strut brace, bigger wheels and tires add up.

My Nismo now is headed below 3000 lbs and it still street legal! It's more like Nismo should have been built with lightweight brakes, lightweight flywheel,, no AC, real race seats, tastefully de contented interior. Lightweight battery, CF hood, lightweight exhaust, lightweight suspension pieces, etc.

Has anyone weighed the nismo rear wing? It looks heavy to me. Didn't realize they put gold in it?

Is there a downside in terms of traction removing the spare tire and losing the weight in the rear? Im thinking of doing lightweight battery -20lbs in the front, and removing the spare -30lbs in the back. Later on ill looking into losing the 10lbs with HFC, and some racing seats. The seats is a important one for me, they transform the form and function of the interior, and have the potential to drop alot of weight!

Not ideal to lose weight from back. I don't think it's worth losing spare in street car.
