2012 Nismo Numbering

Does anyone know why my 12 Nismo is numbered as a 13 on the plaque behind the seats?

Good question... I was wondering why Nissan labeled them as 13 model... The 13's are coming out this summer I believe, with gun metal colored wheels, SS brake lines and I believe a couple other non significant little changes.

I'm a little dumbfounded why they did that, I know mine doesn't have any of the new 13 goodies coming out. I was wondering what the real 13's will say, I mean mine is 13 0505, is there a 12 0505 out there? Where did the ones labeled 12 stop at? My salesman didn't even know they were numbered.

The 13 is a mistake. I've been in contact with NISSAN USA and they even requested that I send them a pic of the serialized NISMO plate. I just received a call from NISSAN USA indicating that it is in fact an error and that the correct plate will be sent from NISSAN Japan. All owners with a 2012 NISMO with a 13 serialized NISMO plate should contact Nissan.

I actually just got the replacement plate today. It was sent from Autech Japan.

EPIC FAIL on Nissan's part. No 13 for me either. Does anybody exactly know how many Nismo's are made each year? I know it was asked before, but nobody has mentioned anything.

Hahaha wow! That's unbelievable for them to make a mistake like that.

I heard 1500 world wide and 150 in the states. But don't count on me.

How did you contact Nissan USA?

w0rM 07-18-2012 07:49 PM

I wouldn't change it. That's going to be worth some serious money one day.

Don't know about worldwide but the US Nismo's average around 550/year. There's a user that goes by Vince on here that actually created a lookup tool for finding production statistics.
