Valet Parking

I am driving out of town today. I just wanted to know if anyone lets valet park their car. I am thinking of insisting on parking my own Nismo. I worry about the front fender being low and them trying to pull all the way into a space and smacking it. Or park too close to another car just so the door will hit it. I know eventually it will get door dings, but at least I can try to avoid it.

I dont. if I know its valet only I will take another car or find a ride with someone

edit: If my car was stock I would probably let them park it and make sure to inspect the car afterwards.

Is there such a thing as a stock Nismo?

TerribleONE 03-30-2012 11:28 AM

I would treat the nismo the same way IMO... it is still considered stock as you can buy it from the dealer that way.. this is just my :twocents:

I understand what you mean.. I dont think a Nismo is stock. I think a regular 370z is stock. The Nismo has the upgrades.

I hear you on this as well... If i wasnt a mod addict I would probably agree! As I said before, if I could avoid valet I would however I know some places that will either make you valet or :gtfo2:

i dont ever let the valet drive my car. i just tell them, ill pay for the valet fee, park my car and take the keys with me.

Pauly 03-30-2012 11:35 AM

never. i dont care if i pulled up in a lawnmower

I only valet at our mall since they know to leave my car there right in front without driving it. Plus I tip them well and know them.....and they are experienced in driving/parking exotics.

I think he meant if he had a regular 370z and not a NISMO. Don't quote me on this though.

The Nismo is no different than a base 370Z in terms of "stock" or not. Can you order the car that way from the factory? Yes. Can you order replacement parts from a Nissan dealer? Yep. Therefore, it's stock. It's just a trim level.

To answer your question, no. I've seen way too many awful things from valets. Unless you slip the dude a $20 and tell him you want your car left up front.

The last time I valet'd a car, the lip got cracked and they definitely watched part of the movie I had paused in the DVD player.

i was a valet at one point in my long list of job choices as a college student and while valets do have fun driving cars. i have let valets valet mine. just slip the driver a 5 and he usually parks it in front next to other nice cars.

Armhunter 04-02-2012 11:27 AM

I did end up taking mine. I drove from Bakersfield to the Fairmont in Newport beach. They acted like professionals. I told them my concerns and one of them made sure they would leave it up front with the other cars. Like an Austin Martin, Ferrari's etc.. It looked great next to those. Every night, they parked it in the same spot and didnt hurt a thing!

THere was another guy in Newport who drove next to me in a Silver Nismo.. Those look nice!
