Looking for New Exhausts!

Hey guys, I'm looking for some nice exhausts for CHEAP. Could you guys help me out? Thanks.

fuct 03-05-2012 10:32 AM

then you should have bought a civic.

serious though, what are you considering "cheap"..... budget?

TerribleONE 03-05-2012 10:40 AM

cheap wont be nice... you get what you pay for. Take a look at the used classifieds section and see if something fits your budget.

red6spd 03-05-2012 10:41 AM

What they said. You want a nice exhaust your gonna have to pay.

Cell 03-05-2012 10:51 AM

CNT is the cheapest exhaust you can get for the Z. LOL but you will pay for what you get. It isn't that bad of a exhaust though.

Cmike2780 03-05-2012 10:59 AM

Unless you want to spend more than $1,200, I would just stick with the stock exhaust on your Nismo or look in the for sale section for a quality used one. Are you just looking for something louder?

:iagree:

roplusbee 03-05-2012 02:19 PM

F.I. TDX............

Not really cheap, but you can source one from the classifieds or from the folks that are upgrading to 3" because they went (or are going) TT. At the end of the day, you can go cheap on exhaust because of the lack of moving parts. You may not like the results in the long run though!

Gauge 03-05-2012 02:40 PM

It's not like the stock exhaust is that terrible.

TerribleONE 03-05-2012 02:54 PM

It can't be terrible since you can't even really hear it...

ZInferno0248 03-05-2012 03:09 PM

Go Fast Intentions... (reasonable at around $1300) it looks and sounds sweet. Of course this depends on what you consider expensive.
For around $5 you could do the washer gap mod in your stock exhaust :)

Actually, I have come to the conclusion it's only inside the car that it is not heard because all my neighbors say they can hear when im driving by their house...

I still ordered the FI exhaust though :bowrofl:

I hear tin foil is pretty cheap

daisuke149 03-05-2012 04:49 PM

exhaust is one of those things where you really should hear different ones andthen figure out the type of sound you want. some people like loud, raspy, drone, some like a quieter tone, some like the deeper sound, etc etc.

each exhaust sounds diff, which is good.

RedNismoZ 03-05-2012 05:10 PM

Fast intentions are nice

TerribleONE 03-05-2012 05:29 PM

+1 for fast intentions if you've got the cash! You will be very happy if you go that route

Nikkolai 03-05-2012 09:26 PM

I would not buy a different exhaust unless you are going to upgrade; fast intentions exhaust being one of them. That is just my honest opinion. Now, if you really want to get a cheap exhaust put on, there is also the one made by Top Speed.

forza370z 03-05-2012 09:29 PM

It's interesting to see people here are all for F.I. exhaust. I am from G35 forum and most people there love the HKS hi power or Motordyne Shockwave. Any HKS lover here?

ZMan8 03-05-2012 09:40 PM

G35/350z had different exhausts that were most "popular" than the 370z/g37 owners. Motordyne is relatively new exhaust on here and seems to be gaining popularity but its too early to say how many will go for it.
HKS is liked among those who own it, but doesnt overwhelm the community like the FI did. I think g37 guys also love the F.I. system.

forza370z 03-05-2012 09:42 PM

But don't get me wrong, I myself owns FI carbon fiber cbe and HFC on my G35c for years and loved it. If I were going to upgrade my NISMO exhaust, that would only be FI or HKS. But to OP, Invidia exhaust is another reasonable option out there.

Yeah, I don't even think MD making catbacks for 370z. It's relatively new system. But I heard a lot good things about them.

Willy 03-05-2012 10:42 PM

I think pep boys have a cheap exhaust for you!!!!!

No, it's terrible. That would be my only real complaint about the car. The 350 sounds good, g37 sounds awsome, 370z is really bad.

i think he was talking about the stock nismo exhaust. its not terrible, just not loud enough.

HFC or TP's with the factory nismo exhaust doesnt sound bad and people hear me coming!

BeemaaZ 03-06-2012 05:24 PM

Let's give him some "good" advice, his budget is $400 :wtf2:

Top speed would be one that falls close to that budget, $400-$500. I hear it sounds decent not real sure on the power though. I'd save the $400ish and keep saving for the one you want. Why compromise on a car like the Z.

Adam@AAMComp 03-07-2012 08:20 AM

Our AAM Competition Short Tails would fit in your budget! We are working on something right now for it to look right on the Nismo Rear bumper. I might be able to post a teaser ;)

Washer gap mod? Lol, people do this for real? Hello air leaks :hello:

Sharpie711 03-19-2012 09:15 PM

Not to sound like a ****, but you payed for a 40 thousand dollar sports car...Why would you compromise for a few hundred bucks? I just snagged a F.I. exhaust off the forums for a good deal. Good deals are out there, honestly just look through as many sound clips, dyno charts, and reviews as you can until you find out what you really want...It's worth it in the end, honestly if i have to skip a few meals a week to save up so be it. It's worth everytime i hit that little button and hear my car crank up :driving:
