First 2010 NISMO Mods Done - Wow.
 

So just wanted to share. I completed the installation of Stillen HFC and AEM NISMO Long Tube CAI over the weekend. First off, both products arrived quickly, came with detailed instructions and particularly with the AEM CAI - those folks thought of every detail and had a part, extender or gizmo to make the kit fit.

Using my seat of the pants "dyno" I have to say the car feels like a completely different beast. I get wheel spin rolling on the accelerator from 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear now. Traction control needs to stay on unless I'm trying to play a bit.

Stock NISMO exhaust but the High Flow Cats give it the perfect level of sound now and when I added the CAI the next day, now I have rumble in the back and whooshing on hard acceleration in the front.

In total about $800 in upgrades. No Check Engine or other problems so far and did I mention the acceleration? Crazy fast feeling now - really, like a different car.

I was thinking about the HFC and the stillen gen 3..... Where'd you get the HFC from?

HFC are from Stillen, direct. The intake is the AEM 41-1002c which is the specific NISMO one. Amazon indicated that the 41-1001c would work but that is for the base 370Z and the module programming is different. According to AEM the base gets just under 10HP but the NISMO, due to other exhaust and tuning gets just under 20HP bump. Gotta say it sure feels like it to me. Even if it's only in my mind, I'm happy with the mods and at least, in my mind, I'm the quickest thing out there!

I know what you are saying, I just installed HFC and Intake too (but mine were berk's//stillen) and the car really has come alive! Not to mention how the engine growls now :tup:

Now I have to decide if i want to intake manifold/headers/pulleys/tune or just leave as is...

Well you guys are killing me. I just picked up a set of Berk HFC's and will be installing them Saturday. Now I guess I will be buying a set of G3's sooner than planned.

RobMan, take a good read of the DIY for HFCs, saved me bunches of frustration (thanks to you guys for writing the DIYs). Lots of liquid wrench on the "devil bolt". I was doing CAI at the same time which made it easier to reach the top front cat bolt on both sides with the long socket extension 1/2 or bigger! Also needed to buy a 22mm open end wrench for the o2 sensors. Biggest I had was 19mm and a crescent just didn't seem wise. Promise it will be a pain in the a** but so worth it once done! Good luck.

What a PIA it was! Did it on Saturday and am happy with the results. You are right thought a major PIA. Got the driver side out no problem but snapped the bolt on the passenger side. At least it is all said and done. Now it's time for an intake.

Congratulations for knocking it . Agree with suitepee and me about how it just comes alive?

I honestly was hoping for a bit more sound out of the exhaust with the HFC's. It does sound better, no doubt, but might be time to order up a FI exhaust sooner than I planned to.
