One thing I've noticed about GTI drivers is that they only hang out with other GTIs... you never see them coming out to a general car show or anything. Fanboys to the maxxxxxxxx. :bowrofl:

yes, they are..."enthusiastic" about their turbo rabbits. Funny thing is, I really like the gti, I think it makes for a great dd, as long as it's a lease and/or you have a warrantee, just like every other german car, it is high maintenance as the miles/time creep up.

at least the guys in ducs have something to back their fanboyism. getting hot over an expensive fwd turbo 4 is something else entirely

I definitely think they are nice cars, but the douchebaggery associated with them is a bit too much for me to handle.

that's how I feel about audis, bmw's, porsches, hmmm, I am starting to see a pattern...

PS--wifey said whenever she goes to the track, someof most down to earth nice guys are the lambo owners, and some of the biggest stuck up pricks are the ferrari and P car dudes. Obvously it's generalization since I know folks that don't fall into that stereotype but then again, stereotypes do have a kernel of truth in them or they wouldn't have evolved to begin with.

takeway: buy a lambo.

Thankfully I hang out with a good group of car guys on the weekends. Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches, GTRs, Mustangs, everything... everyone just shows up for coffee on Sunday mornings and talks cars.

That is some good stuff. Hope the Cars and Coffee meets still happen once I get back to TX. They had a pretty good showing and everyone I met was pretty cool as well. Not quite the same as yours M1, but there were a few exotics present when I attended back in April........

Nice. I'll also be there in May till sometime in 2013. I would also like to check out those C&C meets.

I have only been to the Cars and Coffee twice (when it was in Austin), but there was a large turnout each time I was there. The rest of the time, I go to the meet near the Target in Harker Heights.....close to Fort Hood.

I am from Mass, but my parents live in Austin(near Samsung HQ). I just came back from Austin, but what disapoint me is I didn't see a NISMO 370, not even a regular 370z. Where you guys usually meet and when? I might stop by next time when I visit Austin.

The last Cars and Coffee was cancelled due to weather, but there is a tread called Austin Events (link included) where the guys try and rally up the Z owners to meet up at the event. The tread has been pretty slow lately though..........

There were a handful out during xmas, but it's usually hard to spot 370s. I actually live off parmer and metric, which is near the Samsung hq. I haven't been to any meets, but hopefully soon.

LOL, only when the it's squid crap parked next to me. I recently sold a 08 1098S with all the farkles. Little more than annoying when some "novice" pull up and parks along side and they got a beat to hell 600 kawayamasuki. As soon as I get my Cobra finished, i'll getting a new Duc Superbike.
