I see pros and cons with that situation depending on how selfish or not your wife is. Remind her, sharing is caring.

And it is a tank. Not knocking it though. It would be great to have a back seat for family situations, but I am keeping my Z whether I get a family car or not!

Doesn't excuse his behavior, but insulting his car was uncalled for IMO. New owner of a nismo myself, I just want to avoid being perceived as stuck up, especially after seeing all these back and forth on "regular+sports vs Nismo".

What can I say, I am a stuck up jerk...love my Z!

Welcome to Nissan ownership.

Agreed... The brothers love the Z (they appreciate style). I caught one of these guys taking a picture of my car with his phone in a grocery store parking lot... I love a laugh so I snuck up on him and hit my keyless entry, flashing the lights... he just about jumped out of his skin! Cool guy though, was really excited about the Nismo and great to talk to.

Also, I have an Audi S4 (really wanted AWD and 6MT, don't understand why this is so hard to find other than in a Subaru), so IMO my garage has the perfect mix of import and German! Plus, the Audi is amazingly quick and a blast to drive in the snow, definitely a sleeper to people that don't know what it is. I have not run into the German only "dicks" in my area.

looks like this thread has gotten a lot more replies since I last checked. I see I am not the only one who gets noticed lol.

Lately I feel like the Z has not been getting as many looks and such, but I think I am just getting used to not noticing people anymore. My friend was in the car with me the other day and mentioned how he noticed how people keep looking at the car, so I guess I have really just stopped paying attention to see who is or isn't checking me out lol

That person might get a kick out of it if you wave back when they're taking a pic...

Oh i agree. Much rather have the Z. I was just curious why the other guy was making it like the SRT8 is no match for the Z, unless he meant backroads or something...

I get the least attention in my Z out of three cars. Strangely my old '53 Chevy all beaten up and my 1966 XKE get far more attention. It actually bothered me for awhile. now when somebody says "nice car" outside my house.

I now just say thanks where I once asked "which car".

Or you may have to give in and buy her what she wants. In my case, it cost me twice the amount of the Z! I bought her a mercedes gl450. At least now when she complains about how much attention my Z gets, I can say "get rid of your mercedes and I'll get rid of my Z!" lol

Would you really give up the Z?

RoadZter 01-24-2012 11:44 AM
