2011 to 2012...

Does anyone know of any changes from the 2011 to the 2012 NISMO models? I am close to purchasing a NISMO and the closest one around is 350 miles away. I can either have it shipped here or buy a 2012. I'm just trying to weigh out my options. I like the current version of the NISMO, so as long as the changes are not to drastic then all will be fine.

Thanks in advance,

when you say you can order a 2012, do you mean you would wait for the 2012? or did the dealership told you could order a 2012 already? I am asking because I am in the market for a new Nismo also. I want a white one but I dont see any available anywhere. So I am thinking I should wait for the 2012 model at this point. Can you let me know?
thanks
According to another post here, there will be no major changes to the car at all. They way it sounds the car will remain excatly the same. Hope that helps.

As we've seen in other threads here, many dealerships are telling their customers they can order a new Z even though they don't have an allocation from Nissan. You can go in and fill out the paperwork, get all that done..they'll even takes some money from you, then they get fuzzy on the details. If the dealership doesn't have an allocation then they can't order it from you until they do. The whole order process on Japanese cars is screwed up because of production shutdowns and parts/paint shortages, and made worse by a relative lack of effective communication between Nissan, NissanUSA, and the USA dealer network. Seems like nobody knows the straight story. When people whose livlihood revolves around selling cars have to deal with an information void like that, you are likely to get a wide variety of stories.

So, they may take your order, but you should make sure they have an allocation from Nissan. If they can't get you a build date within a few days after ordering, you're getting hosed.

@1cleans13, I was told the nearest gun metal NISMO was 350 miles away and it would cost extra to have it shipped here. I was then advised I could purchase a 2012 for roughly the same price. I am thinking about it, but just wanted to make sure there were no major changes to the vehicle... Unless they were adding TT for no extra cost. ;-) I was under the assumption that when the time came I could order the NISMO. I was not told I could order a 2012 today.

@MacCool, thanks for the info. I have relatives in the auto industry and they advised me of the same information. Good looking out!
