Now, the Mustang's SRA will have it spinning out on erry corner. As you and I saw in Zdayz, Mustangs are fine in a straight line, but they spin out all the time unless they have a go-pro mounted on the front bumper. |
I love my Z and hopefully will always have it. I also love my 92 notch, which I get just as many looks in(and spanks the Z in a straight line). But they are way different cars. I think the solution is to have a garage full of cars. Deuce coupe, here I come!

Both cars are great, which ever you go with you wont be let down!

Wasnt trying to start another hate fest, just giving props where its due. As far as the V6 mustang topend, idk. But in the reviews they have it at 5.3 / 13.8 which is what the nismo comes in at also. I hae gotten a better time but those are the consistant averages. THE NISMO IS A GREAT CAR. never regretted getting one. Fun car and if you have one you have taste, style and a certain appreciation for quality.
Been great, appreciate all the helpful tips, great site for info and sharing of information. I have no brand loyalty. I dont ever rcall any of them paying me or giving anything. Competition and choices are great you can say it makes things better. This gen mustang is great. The last one i had was a 1990 gt that i believe had 225 hp. I boldly stuck a paxton supercharger maybe pushing 300hp??? Either way THE NISSAN Z IS A GREAT CAR but the mustang calls. For now untill tt??. So i will :gtfo2::driving: |
You don't need to GTFO man! We are just trying to say that the magazines are wrong about the NISMO. People on this forum have consistently seen regular Z's and NISMO hit very low 13's and even high 12's bone stock and the 0-60 is definitely not 5.3. It's more like 4.6-4.8. Noone here should want you to GTFO, we were simply just trying to say that the numbers you posted on the car were a bit off. If you want to, look at it this way. The NISMO is a ~3250 pound car that has 350hp. The V6 mustang is 305hp vehicle and it weighs ~3500 pounds.
It just doesn't make any sense how a car with less power and more weight can be faster in a straight line or around the turns. That's all were trying to get at. |

My only issue with the Mustang is the amount of d-bags that they attract. I am biased though. |

That is the truth, though. If you are driving car X you tend to have a bias against all of its competitors and naturally assume owners of those competing cars are d-bags until proven otherwise. Human nature.

Yeah, you have your fanboys who tend to hate on everyone and then your car guys like us that be lovin' on errbody's wheels.

We need more guys/chicks that are actually into the cars and performance instead of the ones that ghetto-rig or just want attention. I have met quite a few folks at meets and such that bought their car for the look/attention and have not even begun to become one with their machine. Then you got folks that make a Camaro into a donk............
And I hope I'm not a d-bag...........lol |
I like Mustangs. Even Steve's... (even after seeing it in person)

It's funny, on the subie forums, I'm accused of being a z fanboi.

'oil shocks", emasculated the 'muscle cars' with dire predictions that performance was forever dead. Now, I realize the US was a very different country 40 years ago (as was the world) and that we may never fully recover economically from the Bush era Great Recession. Hopefully, the strong coterie of performance buffs in the country will continue to sway manufacturers into building high-performance vehicles well into the future. |

Mustang 5.0 V-8
I have experienced countless number of V-8 engines both domestic and foreign ever since my Dad brought home a new 1955 Chrysler 300.
None in recent memory have impressed me as much as the Mustang's 5.0. Based on its very strong and smooth power delivery and the sounds it makes, I would swear this engine came from the Maserati GranTurismo assembly plant. Those who have yet to experience the sheer joy of this intoxicating engine, should do so. |

i like this thread :) dont know how i missed it lol. I love both cars (mustang gt/nismo) and both are great cars but i would like to shead my experience with both...Well I have a buddy here and he owns a 2010 Roush Gt 427R and I own a 2009 Nismo. I have driven his car, he mine, raced dig, interstate, back roads, we ride together all the time! Now keep in mine his car is stock, mine is fully bolted on...now off the line i say his car has the kick it moves out on me and is a car ahead by 70-80, but that is mainly because i cant get mine to stick off the line(ever!!!) and now on the i-state at around a 3rd gear pull like around 60-65 by 6th at 160 i am right on his passenger door! oh and through the twistys....well i ride his *** and i am having to break constantly....thats if i start behind his ***. I love his car and it will throw your *** back! that torque is m-azing. now i dont know about a regular GT but i would say a stock nismo and stock GT would be pretty close (not drag but imo nismo isnt meant for diggin) I know for a fact a stock nismo will beat a v6 no problem...dont know who told u the v6 would keep up but they lied to your face. My buddy says i "LOVE Driving" your car! He tells me its totally different u can really push that thing. He more or less saying the GT sort of just does its thing. Kind of like comparing the GT is racing Nascar and Nismo is racing Indy cars. You can drive a GT but not push it like u can a nismo.
I dont know what u should get but if u can hey get both they are totally different cars but which ever one u pick i dont think u will be disappointed |

I agree that people sleep on the Z and are really only looking at the numbers and not how the car performs when driven as it should be. The dudes doing the testing are in no way one with the machines that they are testing. You have to be one with your machine and not that many folks are willing to go there.........:stirthepot: |
People sleep on every car. Just ask the e92 M3 from this morning. ;)

I love how folks get caught up in the performance of their vehicle on paper and forget to add in the drivers' prowess. I have seen Mustangs that should "overpower" the competition get beat and others that should be dominated, posterize the competition. It's all relative I guess. The one thing that I do know is that the new 5.0s and Boss 302s are something to reckon with. Hopefully, my friend that is picking up a 2012 GT doesn't get fully bolted and boosted before I become one with my TT and other upgrades (once I return from HELL), lol. |
