Is the Nismo good for everyday driving?

If I can't get my hands on a 40th Anniversary 370Z, my next choice would be the Nismo, based on its looks. However, is it more of a track car? Would it be comfortable for everyday normal driving? I ask because I don't plan on taking it to the track.

Is this really a question?

NickBaragona 07-03-2011 07:10 PM

Yes, I heard the Nismo may be uncomfortable for everyday driving. If that is the case, I will stay away from it.

If you want a car that has a soft ride buy a Cadillac. If you want performance buy a sports car. When the two meet, you loose too much in compromise for one another. I think you would be better off in a G.

I daily drive mine.

Yes, it's still a Z so it will be great for driving everyday.

Hell even the GT-R is great for everyday, it's not a Ferrari so that's what it's made for!

I DD my NISMO also. The only issue I run into are areas that have questionable clearance. You may scrape the front if you are not paying enough attention. But I would venture to say that it is nicer than any car I have owned previously. In it's current state, my S13 Fastback would beat it in a straight line, but not on the corenes and I have the most money in that car in the suspension. Plus the ride is a bit softer, yet more firm in the Z than my S13 Fastback. Go figure.......

If you have to carry more than a couple of bags, that could be the issue with the NISMO or any Z for that matter. Test drive one, you will be hooked.

Well, I have my eyes set on a 40th 370Z. But there is just something so sexy about the Nismo. It must be the larger spoiler.

frostyrock7c 07-04-2011 11:43 AM

I DD the Nismo as well and will continue to do so for about the next year or so.

Who cares what its made with. It has over 550hp and is the worlds fastest sports sedan. Either way you dont have to sacrifice luxury or performance with that one. Id have one but I just feel to young to sport a 4door Caddy. Maybe when I turn 40. lol! Anyways back on topic I see no problem with DD'n a nismo. The only thing I dont like is that we have a bunch of concrete interstates around here and driving on those gets pretty annoying.

The caddy is no longer the fastest sedan. That title now belongs to the 2012 M5. However Id still take the caddy because the M5 cost over 30k more than the caddy.

the 30k more that you spend on the M5 over the caddy is well worth it

the M5 is an entirely different league than the Caddy, and the E63 AMG as well for that matter

the reason why i say this is because after driving both the Caddy, and the E63 AMG...and then the new 550i bmw (closest thing to an M5 right now)

the Caddy just doesnt compare, maybe its a second faster, or holds .01 more Gs in a corner...but as far as the purpose of the car...the Merc and the BMW are just so much better all around, they are of much higher build quality, the interiors dont feel like they're gona fall apart (like in the caddy)...the germans may over price their cars, but for the most part its worth it!!

and with the new M5 coming twin turbo V8, 560hp and 500tq on the showroom floor...the tuners are gona grab hold of those and push at least 100hp over stock on all stock components, just by messing around with the computer...the same thing they do with the 335i

i cant wait to get my hands on the new M5, its gona be a monster!!! and it finally has proper brakes!!!

issforged 07-05-2011 07:25 AM

and on the Nismo topic!

we have 2 of our customers out here driving Nismos and they love 'em as dailys

never heard a complaint from them...the only thing they tell us is that you have to get a clear bra applied to the front, the low nose lovessss rock chips!
