Scrape front lip?

How often do you guys scrape your fronts? Any of you going to replace that black duffuser soon? Seems like a good thing, as you don't have to paint. But it costs like $400.

Ron 04-07-2011 07:47 PM

You can't really see the scratches unless you're laying on the floor looking up lol. Those 400 bucks could be better spent on something else. IMO :)

Mine was scrapped when I took delivery, did not see it until I put on the CAI.

Check out Courtesy Nissan

Front bumper: $315

Front diffuser: $225

I scrape the front diffuser multiple times a day.

adampetrasek 04-08-2011 12:44 AM

I scrape mine at least twice a day, pulling in and out of my driveway. Figure it makes a nice buffer between the concrete and the painted bumper. :p

tjlazer 04-08-2011 02:13 PM

The Nismo Diffuser is more expensive and bigger over base...

chops 04-08-2011 04:43 PM

ive scraped mine maybe 2-3 times since ive owned it. however, my nismo will be dropped on kw v3's this weekend. lets hope the scrape count stays under 5! :ugh2:

antfd3s 04-25-2011 08:14 AM

I scrape at least 3 times a week if driving everyday. Im only lowered 1". Be mentally prepared or have your radio turned up. Its almost impossible not to damage that black lip when lowered. Can't see it anyway less you strap a mirror to your shoe.
Nismo bumper 700
Nismo diffuser 475

been there done that.
When I saw those prices posted above I was ready to order 2 of each.lol

mjohn617 04-25-2011 04:12 PM

Does this count as a scrape? :p

front stress crack?

noticed this on my 2010 today and wondered if it could have resulted from one too many scrapes on speed bumps etc. up close it appears the dent/cracks welled up from the inside and a friend said its likely from stress when getting scraped. while i try to take speed bumps and the like at an angle i have definitely scraped the bottom on a number of occasions :o any other thoughts on what could have caused this? and what it would cost to fix? i'm not sure if the warrranty would cover it, thanks

Hmm, so do you just leave it there, or do you pull it out each time you pull in/out of your driveway? I'd be afraid of someone stealing it if I left it out there.

Nope I leave it there. It weighs 150lbs and its bolted together.

Where did you get that?

TWYNBYZ 06-05-2011 08:47 PM

Before the KW's ---> 0
After the KW's -----> 2

The scraping was done coming in and out of my driveway. I'm definitely going to invest in some driveway ramps

scrapped the sh!t out of the whole passenger side lip at the last meet. Damn I was pissed. I used some sand paper to buff it out, turned out ok. I guess this is gonna happen, gotta get used to it.

Hitting curbs with the front lip and/or black lip is a badge of honor for people who aren't aware of or can't judge where the front of the car is.

Mine..... a full two years old and not a mark under there:tiphat:

If you haven't scraped on your non Nismo model yet it probably because it sits mad higher and of course having a pussyfoot matters as well.
Get in press the butten rev to 6 grand dump the clutch and drive hard. Ill pay for your baby front lip. Just have some fun already. Lol

He does not have a Nismo front bumper, thats why. Having had both I can attest the Nismo front sits lower and is easier to scrape, especially if lowered. The only thing that scrapes on the base is the chin flap spoiler, not a big deal at all.
