PW Nismo with silver Vinyl wrap?

Afternoon everyone,

I am contemplating having my front lip, mirrors and top side of rear spoiler vinyl wrapped in either a carbon fiber silver, brushed aluminum or a plain silver. I have not seen this done on a nismo yet and want to do something different. Besides, I plan on keeping the stock nismo rims and the silver color sceme should blend well.

Thoughts and/or pics are welcome.

Thanks

-Ryan

Thanks guys. I definitely got love for the Nismo's. Never been a fan of a regular Z but the Nismo is pure sex. I'm just trying to think of a way to break up the single tone paint job. I liked how my 350z Nismo was white and the lower accents were graphite.

I agree, but at its current height i was bottomed out the side skirts and the front lip, bending my bumper many times. :(. I don't know if its a PA thing, or i just am not good at owning a 'low' car.

I hear you. Being lowered definitely has its con's. I'm on coilovers and almost always have to remove the bumper to get any work done to it since most shops can't get it on their lift or are to scared to even try. This is my Z as it stands now, waiting to get an alignment.

MJB,
Those are just the stock wheels powdercoated black, right? Any issues with chipping? Looks awesome. Did you paint or PlastiDip the door handles?

fuct 10-08-2012 10:13 AM

are those Jenny's wheels MJB?

You took your Foam off the front? Any problems with the front piece? I was thinking of doing the same thing. To me it looks like the foam blocks the air from the intakes.

That is exactly why I took the foam piece off. Way more air flow without it when using the Gen3's. So far no problems.

Until you hit something at 2 MPH and wonder why you need a new bumper.

MJB 10-08-2012 12:01 PM

^ Tell that to some of the FI guys. Some of them have to remove the entire crash bar in order to fit their intercooler.

I thought this was funny...

You are not really supposed to be hitting anything though.. I have not hit anything in over 20 years! But people have hit me.. So I wont be modding my back end of the car anytime soon!

Yeah, I doubt a 12oz piece of foam is really going to save your bumper in the event of a fender bender, even at 2mph. Either way the bumper would be damaged.

jennyt71 10-08-2012 01:22 PM

I still have my wheels :) no changes there.. yet.

Actually, by law your bumper has to sustain a 5 MPH front-end collision without any damage. The foam absorbs some of the energy that would otherwise crumple your bumper.

It's always a treat to see a Nismo driving around here in Denver, but have yet to hear a nice aftermarket exhaust on one . ~ . *

I have to thank Bryan Heitkotter for this photo... Nice shot Bryan. Your really multi talented.

Me and my Friend Capri at Barber Motorsports Park tearing it up. She is a trooper. She had a smile the whole time around the track. Of course she had a death grip on the door handle. :driving:

Very nice! Did you put the stock sport tires on your Nismo Rims? 275 rears?

No.. Running Re-11's in OEM sizes.. I think this was my last track day on them. The left front really took a betting in turn 7b at Barber Motorsports Park. I was hitting that turn a little hot, but it was a blast.

Glad you all like the photo. Bryan took some amazing shots. The guy is truly multi-talented.
