About the Nismo Exhaust

today i went to the auto shop to do the resonators delete and the sound come out not much different compare to the stock. it doesnt worth. :shakes head:

HFCs would have made a bigger difference in sound than deleting the resonators.

What's up bro,

Even with HFC's the exhaust is going to be quiet. If your looking for a louder exhaust. I have non resonated test pipes on my Nismo and it's still pathetically quiet. Need a new exhaust asasp.

Yeah, I opted for TPs and couldn't believe what a sound robber that rear can is....however, remove the 25lb beast and heck has broken loose...going in this weekend to put a couple of Magnaflow bullets on to hopefully keep the cap at 100db... :D

Holy smokes, That is a nice sounding set up trooper!!!

Nismoracer 11-21-2010 01:30 AM

That does sound nice. Deep not raspy or fart canny. Nice. I just can't seem to let go of the idea of getting rid of a nismo exhaust system that would cost $1200 or so if you bought them to put on.

F1loco 11-21-2010 09:49 AM

Just remove the rear can...that thing sucks all the sound away...TP's and delete are crazy loud - almost like long tubes. Very happy with the rear delete. Magnaflow makes some nice tips that look OEM, though I think they were like $55 a piece or the like...I tried TP's and stock rear, but it was still too tame. I'll try to get some video up. Posted some earlier with straight pipes (TPs and rear delete) - I think my left ear still rings as a result...:D

I went with a FI CBE with 18 inch resonators and carbon fiber mufflers. Great sound! It's loud enough to enjoy the engine and let others know your driving a sports car but not loud enough to draw too much attention or hinder having normal conversation in the car.

The nismo exhaust does bring out a good vq Tone.
Although I still do see it as pretty restricting.. I would
say go for a true dual,if you want to at least feel some
gains. Then comes the issue of having to find the perfect one
with the least in cabin drone and not having to compromise a
deep non raspy tone.. Everyone goes through there own exhausts
endeavors. which makes this a great hobby:tup:

i finally got my HFC"s on, and let me tell you..the exhaust sounds perfect in my opinion. theres an actual growl in the lower RPM's and it really opens up past 4k. i cant get enough of it now! my MPG is going to tank :D
