nismo 370z intake

Are there any new intakes out yet specifically made for the Nismo 370z? I'm looking for something that will perform.

I think i want a dual cold air intake but not sure what will work on my nismo

the Injen and Stillen will both work. Just requires a lil trimming with the horizontal diffusers.

I thought Injen was a bolt in affair. Well I am not including the washer container trim.

are there any dyno's on those intakes on the nismo? how's the a/f with the nismo ecu

theDreamer 01-30-2010 05:26 PM

Dyno for the Stillen & Injen are out:
~Stillen: 15-18
~Injen: 10-15
Stillen you might have to modify a bit since you have a Nismo.

It'll be a while til I can realistically budget the Stillen CAI (that's the brand that I will be getting.) Once I get it though I will be getting a dyno and by then I will have a baseline of course. Hold your breath!

Nismo intake

I know there is a shop in Arlington,TX that is selling intakes designed for the 370Z Nismo. The Injen model.

vipor 02-12-2010 10:45 AM

They weren't designed for the Nismo specifially, they just install with less differences compared to the non-Nismo. The injen requires relocating your windshield sprayer reservior somewhat.

Called injen and found out that they just started producing the SP1990P and SP1990BLK just for the Nismo model because of the Air/Fuel ratios & tuning. The Base model 370z ecu tune is very different. They DO NOT recommend using *an aftermarket intake for the base model 370z on a nismo 370z without a tune*.

I just ordered one from www.z34performanceparts.com . hopefully I'll have it in a week or so.

No offense, but that is a bunch of BS, any intake for the base will be fine for the Nismo. Just reset your ECU and you should be fine, if you want to balance it all out you will need to hit up Cobb or Uprev for a tune.

370z370z 02-14-2010 07:19 PM

no its not B.S. why do you think Outperformance shop bought a Nismo 370z and sent it to Injen for R&D in california?

both Cobb tuning & uprev do not support the Nismo 370z yet. 'no tunes available for Nismo at this time'

theDreamer 02-14-2010 07:47 PM

Ummm...they do not have pre-packaged tunes, but they can do dyno tunes easily which is where you will see real world gains (both Cobb & Uprev). The Nismo tune is not anything special from what we have seen yet, so they increased the rev limiter and threw on a slightly better exhaust system. The tune probably just opens up the system a bit more which any tune from Uprev/Cobb will do with ease.

The need for them to send anything off because it is a Nismo is completely unnecessary, the engines are the exact same, once you actually dig into a real tune there is no difference. They both support the same exhaust systems, HFC, headers, etc.
