Interested in this 2014 Nismo. Requesting opinions on if this is a good buy or not.

:hello: Hey guys, I've been a part of this forum for a long time. I owned 2 previous 370z(s). A pearl white 2009 sport (M/T) and a black 2014 nismo. I sold my last 370z because I was in the process of buying a new house and could have used the extra cash and less debt. That was almost 4 years ago. Now I'm in a position where I can purchase a nice play toy again so I was looking at getting back into another Z. I am really only interested in finding a 2014 Nismo. Preferably white or black in good condition. I stumbled upon this listing on cars.com and was curious if anyone knew the owners or the car and could vouch for the integrity of the vehicle. 2014 Nismo(s) are apparently hard to come by nowadays. Opinions are also welcome on the buy too. Thanks!

The 2014 should have red pin stripes front and back. This one doesn’t have it up front.

Carfax in listing shows minor damage in 2018, part of front and both sides.

Front bumper left side shows scratches. Looks like it’s into and past the paint, unless the color is just some rubber transfer from rubbing on something...

Aftermarket seats...don’t know what model those are. I personally would want OEM seats with side airbags.

What’s a ideal 2014 worth to you? And how far is this car from your ideal?

Note: wow this thing was hardly drive under the first owner. Jan 2019 mileage was reported at 390....feel bad for first owner, hardly drove the car then got damages.

You paid $32k (pre TT&L) for your previous 14 Nismo with 1k miles. This one is $22k with 45k miles. I think that can be a yard stick....Is $10k discount worth the 44k miles, the front bumper, and the mods (good and bad)?

I'd say no, just for the hideous gemstone shift knob.

Also missing the Nismo wheels, that's $2400. Missing the correct steering wheel, which makes suspect air bag deployment, especially since it's also missing the OE seats. It's probably been wrecked pretty bad.

It would be a no for me too. The damage probably caused air bag deployment and that is why the new seats and steering wheel and a set of new rims. If it didn't have all these potential issues and documented damage it would be a maybe but only if you are able to see it in person. A lot can be overlooked and missed in photos.

I would walk on this one. Take your time and you will find one. Just don't jump at the first one you come across.

I'm in agreement with what several others have said. That Z is throwing up too many red flags. When I bought mine about 2.5 years ago I initially saw several options that just didn't check out. I would be compromising on one factor or another. I was disappointed because I kept hitting brick walls, but with a bit more patience, I literally found everything that I wanted within 10 miles of my house at a dealership I and many of my family members and friends had history with. The color, pricing, and even past ownership could not have been more aligned. It was just timing. Sometimes that's all it is. Call me crazy but I feel that often the things that are truly only for you (your Z included) have a way of finding you.

I'm still looking and came across this white 2014 nismo with almost 100k miles. Im not really sure if thats even worth getting into. The guy is asking 26,500, which i think is pretty high for the mileage and usage. Opinions?

Check this one out. It’s listed as “coming soon”. Cal up the particular CarMax, see if someone can call you the moment it becomes available.

Almost 100k miles and it’s been in an accident. My option, I don’t care if it’s Pear White, that thing is not worth $26.5k.

Fearless_Z 03-21-2021 06:41 PM

Think I found one that is actually worth looking at.
