15/16 Nismo Z much more aggressive body kit but the only thing the 09-14 nismo z has are better rims.

14 - wheels, spoiler
15- body kit, interior, headlights

As I reported some time ago... the 2014 version has something that catchs your eye in a stealthy way... I suppose it's the combination of the two-coloured body kit, awesome wheels and huge rear spoiler.

On the other hand, I have to confess that ´15/´16 version is gorgeous!

15' looks good and more luxurious IMO, but the 14' looks more like a racecar, which is good in some cases.

I believe the the 15 & 16 has a carbon drive shaft. Not sure if the 14 and belows have this. Love the shifting on my 16.

Pre 15's have a carbon composite driveshaft as well. For me, the pluses for the new Nismo is the 3.91 gears, the seats, and headlights. The aero changes didn't "increase" downforce, it moved it, made it more "usable". Whether thats true for just the street or track setup, idk. For me, the bodykits are a wash. I prefer the pre 15 spoiler and wheels. I also don't like that Nissan "softened the car up for the 15+.

:gtfo2: "softened the car up". I'll admit, I've never driven a pre-'15 Nismo for comparison, but damn if mine doesn't feel stiff-as-f*ck! (and I love every bit of it )

TriNismo 04-13-2016 01:45 PM

They did softened the suspensions to make it more drivable to target more buyers (same reason first time Nismo available in AT also), but still stiffer than non-Nismo Zs

"Softened up" does not mean "less sporty" nor does it make it a sissy. In this case, it's actually just slightly different dampening. It's a good thing imo. Don't be offended.

Ha! No offense taken... :tiphat: I do remember reading something about that a while ago... I was just busting on the idea of the Nizzy having "softened" suspension! (And damn I can't imagine what it's like driving the older ones if it feels firmer/stiffer lol)

Spstone 04-15-2016 05:27 PM

I would say stiffer from when I test drover them both side by side. I had already made the salesman really uncomfortable with a twisty on ramp so couldn't test the firmer aspect of the two.

The addition of the performance dampers causes the softer ride feel.

So I see that WhatnowGamer has made his choice; '15 NISMO.
Good choice. I have the '16 in red and LOVE it. I like the rims better too. I get lots of looks, especially in red. Most people don't even recognized it on the road as a Nissan.
Enjoy!
