Clutch already went out on my 15 Nismo

So I have about 7.7k on her now. The clutch went out when I was on the interstate in Atlanta on a business trip. Bad timing since I had to be back in FL the following day.

They replaced it under warranty since I really actually didn't do **** this time... I had to talk with Nissan 1 to get them to send me my cat which they did.

Scraped up my damn bumper all along the bottom with a few chunks. To top it off there is something wrong with the clutch at low rpms it's vibrating / rattling noise between 1k to 2k.

Obviously she's going back to my local dealership :-( at least they are working with it.

Dam, sorry to hear that.

Put a Zspeed CSC and replace the stock CMC and fluids and you should be good to go for 100k miles.

roplusbee 10-03-2015 06:44 PM

Any diagnosis yet?

ramoszx12r 10-06-2015 11:03 AM

I thought that by now they will have fix the CSC. I have a 2016 and i hope they have fix it.

Did you did some racing or that was normal driving. 1300 is nothing, can you ask for a aftermarket one.

Is there a good aftermarket one?

MagmaRed370z 10-08-2015 08:44 AM

I wonder what Nissan Mechanics/Top Managers/Executives think about this issue?

EzDz 10-08-2015 01:36 PM

I tried to get an aftermarket put in but they magically found an oem csc for me. I had one spirited run with some friends but no racing. It broke doing 35:driving:
I gave them my motul 600 for clutch fluid but thats the best itll get until I do the z1 fix. Id like to hold off though

ZSpeed Heavy Duty CSC or Z1 CSC Elimination Kit are your best options IMO.

ramoszx12r 10-08-2015 08:33 PM

Thanks

Yet another thread identifying a problem and the OP disappears without a diagnosis or fix action. Sad.........

Jepawa 10-22-2015 06:09 AM

my 15' makes a vibrating rattling noise when in neutral and letting off of the clutch. if I push the clutch in then immediately the noise is gone. I hope I don't have the same problem as you, admitting I am an aggressive driver I guess I have it coming if it does go out.

Davey 10-22-2015 06:32 AM

That's just the throwout bearing, and as long as it's not really loud, it's totally normal on this car.

Jepawa 10-22-2015 08:16 AM

I'll just make my exhaust louder and not think twice about it.

Didn't disappear just busy as he'll right now Sorry guys. Haven't been getting notifications for some reason either so didn't realise all the responses. No it wasn't the csc they did have to replace that along with flywheel and a complete new clutch assembly. Apperently the clutch broke into 3 pieces is what they said. No reason given to me I asked what could have caused it they have no idea. Just a defective clutch is all I got. My local dealership still has her. Apperently they didn't put the shields back on right around the tranny. They were just hanging according to my local is what I was told. They did take her back apart and made sure she was 100% lined back up. I also get a burning smell they said they dont don't have an answer on that just that everything looks good and is right lol I'm starting to hate these cars

2011 Nismo#91 10-22-2015 09:34 AM

I would be willing to bet it was improper installation that caused it to break apart like that. I wouldn't be too surprised to have some burning smell with a brand new clutch it just shouldn't be a lot and shouldn't last long.
From another site "New Clutch Smell: The OEM clutches do really smell for about the first 3-400 miles. ... Clutch material is similar to brake pad material..."

NefariousZ34 10-22-2015 12:04 PM

Sounds good.

NefariousZ34 11-03-2015 09:52 PM

Update - I was told they had a bad batch of clutches late 14 and 15s that the pucks were bad. Which is why mine blew out.

Also was told they've upgraded the clutch a couple a months ago and that's what they've installed this is from my dealership after dissembling and re assembling ensuring the work was done properly since I was getting a rattle.

Rattles = fuse box and wires were loose, shift rattle (we all know it's the ring) , plates around the transmission, exhaust and cats were loose, and last but not least they adjusted my intakes causing the bracket to hit against the car (my local dealership actually kept my car for a week and went over it completely). Very satisfied.

The damage to the front bumper I've heard nothing back since Friday. No one wants to take responsibility of course. I replied back to their call and no response this is the company that shipped the car back to me not Nissan.

JMZ 11-05-2015 07:13 PM

Sounds like they took care of most of it. Glad to hear it. I'm getting a rattle from the shifter above 4k RPM. Was thinking about making a appt at my local dealer.

NefariousZ34 11-05-2015 07:26 PM

It's in the shifter it's the ring for reverse that comes loose or drops down if you have techs that know what they are doing they will already know. Mine did I already knew what it was from guys on here but to have a tech explain it to me was music to my ears. A Nissan tech that can actually diagnose and fix 370s I was in shock...
