2015 Nismo lowered on stock wheels? pics and setups.

Wasn't sure to put this in the suspension area or not cause i wanted to keep this thread 2015 specific.
any one got pics of a new 2015 Nismo lowered. If yes could you tell us your setups ( springs, spacers etc) and post up some pics. Maybe even describe the ride feel.
thanks

Zipper1 06-22-2015 05:32 PM

Just got my Swifts in so should have pics soon.

NefariousZ34 06-22-2015 08:08 PM

I'm interested as to how this turns out

DPE G 06-23-2015 11:02 AM

Best I have, didn't take a whole lot of pics prior to wheels. They definitely could have used some spacers, they are pretty sunk, especially with the little flares on it.

 love it!!!! I want those damn fender flares hahaha!!

DPE G 06-23-2015 06:38 PM

I have a full set in PW with 600 miles on them i will sell :)

Mavrik 06-23-2015 10:12 PM

Also curious how swifts look! I'm looking to run Swifts with 20mm spacers. Stock wheels are ok. Aftermarket would be cool but with tires that's half a turbo kit even on used wheels

Im working on a few things in my Z first but send me a PM to see if I can get them now ;)

Chuy 06-25-2015 12:00 PM

Have you rubbed the inside of the arches? I think we might if we run wheel spacers

DPE_G should know. His flares are removed and rolled fenders as well? His is lowered though I believe those are also offset 20" wheels not the stock 19" size. I don't believe spacers should cause flares to rub but spacers and a drop may cause an issue

DPE G 06-25-2015 07:38 PM

I never ran spacers on my stock wheels. I run 20x11+0 in the rear with not problem on a 285. The front I had to roll and ended up with a very slight pull on a 9.5 +16 w 245/35. The issue will be the flares since they are kind of bulky on the inside brackets. Should be easy enough to shave off all of the inside mounting and lip since the double sided tape holding them on is fairly strong.

Zipper1 07-02-2015 06:48 PM

I just finished installing the the rear springs from Swift. I did the easy part, rears were simple. Tomorrow I'm going to a suspension shop to do my fronts. I went for a quick drive and i can tell you that the swifts definitely drive real smooth and tight in the back. Cant wait to get them installed up front. Ill have pics as soon as its done. Camber looks pretty bad in the back so im going to pick up some Cusco or SPL rear camber arms to flush out the wheels more.

Zipper1 07-04-2015 11:20 AM

Got the swifts fully installed, no noises and no issues.
quick comparison: The Nismo springs and setup was much tighter and stiffer. Feels like going from a race car to a 4 door sedan. It rides real smooth and tight but not as hard as the nismos. Overall im happy with the ride and the very happy with the drop. Installed some Stillen rotors while i was in there.
Crappy cell phone pics for now.

Ordered some SPL rear arms to correct camber in the rear and flush out the wheels as much as possible since i wont be using spacers.
So there it is , 2015 nismo on Swifts.

Chuy 07-04-2015 04:54 PM

Interesting comment about a 4 door, seeing as the spring rates are higher. Maybe I'll go coils

Nismo0392009 07-06-2015 04:33 AM

where can you get those flares?

cooltoy 07-06-2015 09:35 PM

Nissan.

Here's mine, dropped like 1.5 inches
Spacers make the oemwheels +15 front and +3 rear

Looks great man!

HIZZY 06-09-2017 10:00 AM

i'm real hesitant to touch the suspension on my nismo.

i love how it rides.

very interested to see what you guys post here and please describe your ride stiffness/smoothness after your installs....

cchheett55 06-09-2017 10:38 AM

First pic is when I was on BC coils, 20mm spacer Front, 30mm spacer rear. Second pic is on bags, with the spacer still on. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4230210e9c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d0f3d3a944.jpg

How low are you dropped? I would like to have my Nismo w/ a similar drop on stocks. Car looks lower, but not too low. I still need the car functional without sacrificing drive quality.

Hey mate,

Looks great. I am getting coils this week. Approximately how much did you lower it?

Thanks
Spagz

Looks great. How low is the drop?

Electrify904 07-09-2017 09:40 AM

I never measured it, I just lowered it until I liked where it sat

Hi, so from what I’ve read so what been told and seen so far that springs tend to loosen up the ride? For a more accurate drop coils or bags but drive is still so so?

I’m in the same situation as HIZZY.. I love the stiffness of the nismo. My winter beater has H&R race springs and I love it.

Not looking for a drastic drop but enough to keep the stiff/race like ride.

Coilovers are a great way to go. My M7 Japan coillvers to me make my car much more enjoyable. I feel like the valving or something is off on the nismo suspension. That too bouncy feel annoyed me personally.

My car handles a lot better now with much less body roll as well.

Bro you gotta cut that thing out of the front fender!! I cut mine out and took old credit cards and wrapped in matte black vinyl and then bought tiny black screws and created a plastic plate to cover it... looked so legit and you cant even see it.

I do things you cant even see top notch. Some say waste of time. To me well worth it:)

Keep in mind, what Volk did may take a little more time and may seem to some as overboard but it's all about the details. Even as small as some are.

My code name is Overkill. If I acquire super hero.powers and become a vigilante my name will also be overkill but for more badass reasons lol

OptionZero 11-09-2018 12:00 PM

My front tabs also rubbed off due to low ride height + aggressive front fitment

Had a bodyshop "fix" it. They fabbed up a little bracket that solved the issue, tight fitment now, no gap, won't fall apart
