Cooling A Nismo or Z 'Sport' Model
 

I have been wondering if anyone has changed their radiator to a larger one with built in oil cooler?

In my outlook anyway, I believe the 'coolant' cooled oil coolers are most efficient year round, especially in the winter.....

I'm not familiar with aftermarket parts suppliers for Nissan's. I wish there were a list of reputable suppliers...I do know DeWitts makes some mighty fine rads for Vette.

No one makes what you want. Best bet is an oil cooler. 25 row or larger if you track. In the winter time. Block off part of the air flow to the cooler. That's what most do here.

if theyre blocking off part of the oil cooler arent they blocking part of the radiator also? What somebody needs to make is an integrated oil pan/sump that taps into the coolant flow.

They make a dry sump system that does that. $$$$$$

The Z06 has dry sump. It has nothing to do with cooling the oil however.

The early Z06's of the sixth generation have have 'air' cooled oil coolers (circa 2006-2010). The 2011-2013 have factory 'coolant' cooled oil coolers which ARE more efficient. The seventh gen Z06 has coolant cooled oil coolers also.

The issue was NOT summer heat either (on air cooled coolers). It is winter warming.

There are two styles. One, is the cooler built into the radiator. I prefer those.

While I do not yet own a Z, I can say this: No.

It's NOT covering the radiator. The air cooled oil coolers are NOT part of the radiator.

However, the air oil cooler could be located in front of the radiator. But, this will not affect the winter cooling of the coolant by covering the oil cooler. It's only a small fraction of the size of the rad.
