I've heard that doing that is hard on the transmission. Better to heel-toe downshift or use your synco rev. Burn brakes, not transmission fluid where possible. Brakes are cheaper than a new transmission!
"Great looking car. I almost/kinda which I held out for the 2010 just for the convertible. I do like the seats better, but still couldn't be happier. I thought the SyncroRev was kinda niftly initially, but I use a manual tranny like a primary brake and rarely tap the brake pedal unless I'm at a stop light. Matching RPM's on downshifts doesn't help the car slow down much, so it's been off since. " |
aiiite dude! I got a 2010 black cherry roadster 6 speed last week tooooo:rofl2:
|
someone told me to use the downshifting for brakes-I thought it sounds nutz:shakes head:
|
Brakes - $200
Transmission - ? (more) I will downshift when coming up to a light where the cars have already started moving. Otherwise it's Neutral and brakes. |
congrats!!! you will LOVE it. ask around about caring for the convertible top-I was told to use RAGGTOPP. Supposed to prevent early leakage.:icon18:

yeah Vipor-I have replaced one transmission in a truck once-was thousands. In no hurry to do that again.
Any ideas on how to preserve the convertible top in the roadster? I just got a 370 Z |
