2012 Nismo

2 Attachment(s)
Hello all, bought a 2012 Nismo Z a couple months ago. My son and I are about to make a project out of her. Trying to get him interested in more than video games.

Currently

Drivetrain:

K&N intake system
GReddy cat-back dual exhaust system
Aftermarket flywheel (not sure what brand or kind)

Body and Suspension:
Carbon fiber fenders
Looks like aftermarket springs (they are red)
Just had front cap repainted, door handles, and rear bumper (added the Nissan red accents)

Future:
Looking at going with:

DOC race single turbo kit (ball bearing, around 500 WHP)
CJM 370Z / G37 S1.E Fuel System
Z1 oil cooler (not sure how big to go)
AEM CD-7 CAN Digital Dash Racing Displays
Need to look at clutch to see what I have.

Any suggestions on other things I will need?
Injector type and size?
Any tuner shop suggestions around Louisiana?

Great father and son project.
Have fun with your build.

Welcome to the 370Z forums. Beautiful Nismo Z you have there congratulations! After you finish doing your build do you plan on doing any track time? The only reputable place for tuning in LA is Thunder Racing that I know of and they don’t work on imports at all I asked them before. The closest reputable tuner to you is Moncef at Administration Tuning he has lots of experience in tuning our cars and is very knowledgeable. It is definitely worth the drive in your Z to Administration Tuning. In the summer in LA it gets really hot and humid so, don’t be afraid to go bigger on the engine oil cooler for sure. Z1 is not the only brand engine oil cooler out there for our cars FYI. What are your goals for your Z?

Flywheel by itself isn't an efficient use of your labor. Definitely want to look at one of the ZSpeed CSC solutions (internal HD CSC or external CMAK). Might as well go ahead and replace the clutch while you're in there. I suggest you have a conversation about your goals with Joe @ ZSpeed. He's one of the absolutely best vendors out there for customer service as well as pricing.

Are you sure you want to be a guinea pig for the DOC turbo kit? New kits by new vendors are not something that tends to go well in this community. For more information research the GTM, AAM, and RJM kit debacles :eekdance:

Thanks for the info! My goals are to remain street-able and reliable with 500-550 WHP. I want to be in the sub 12 second quarter mile for sure. I believe I would be there with these HP figures and a few other mods.
