New Nismo Owner (Atlanta, GA)

New owner checking in, just acquired a 2012 Nismo in black with 12k miles. Really enjoying the car, my first Z car as well. Very fun driving in the north GA mountains. This is actually my DD and my weekend car is a 800whp CTSV.

Random question - anyone here have any experience with the Firestone Indy 500 tires? Looks to have some pretty good reviews and great bang for the buck. Stock tires are about done.

Saw your car at C&O. Car looks beautiful. I actually tried to catch you as you were leaving, but just missed you. I was on a Black/Red 2016 BMW S1000RR parked close by you at the last meet. I told myself I'm not going to mod this car since I already have a car to mod, but after seeing your car, I might throw some wheels on it thanks to you. Are you lowered on coils or springs? And did you have to buy front and rear camber arms, or just rear camber arms? My brother has a set of gold Works VSXX on his Lexus (370Z fitment) I might get off him.

EDIT: just saw your thread and see you're on springs. Great looking car, again.

Welcome. Stay away from mustangs.

By the way, one VERY annoying thing about this car.. Seems like due to the looks, everyone wants to race me!

Welcome!
I'm night a Firestone fan.
I never buy tires based on the lowest price.

I recommend Hankook V-12'S.
I run them on my z33 and also have them on my z34.
They are great for all purpose driving. Quiet, excellent ride.
Not good for track though. Rather soft sidewalls.

I disagree. I've had many tires through the various cars I've owned. Both top of the line and cheaper performance tires. I've had Hankook V12's on a M3 and didn't like them at all. Based on the reviews of the Firestone's and at that price point, I don't see why not. Dry traction seems to be pretty good and nothing, but good reviews. Like I mentioned, this is my daily driver with some spirited driving. My other car has Bridgestone RE11's. Also have Firestone Wide Oval's on my VW GTI and surprisingly not bad for the price.

Welcome to the club, enjoy the car and then drive it harder
as far as tires, bit pricey, but worth it Michelin Super sports

I've been a die hard Bridgestone RE11 fan (two sets), but that's what I'll be trying on my CTSV when the new PSS's come out. The Z is my daily so I don't want to spend that kind of money.

For what it's worth, I think the Bridgetone S-04s offer great value. I've been running them for about a year and a half and have absolutely no complaints.
