Hello from New Hampshire

Hi everyone. My name's Giorgi and I just wanted to say hello. I got this 09 370z touring with nav 2 days ago and I'm super excited about it. I traded in my mazdaspeed3 for it. I love everything about this car. This morning it got a fresh set of snow tires and yes, I plan on driving it in the snow :) Obviously washing it at least weekly.

Here she is! I told myself that I wouldn't get another black car since the black paint shows EVERYTHING! However, I know I'll get a few rock chips and scuffs from regular driving. The biggest thing for me is avoiding dents.

Welcome and congratulations on your Z! :tiphat:

I, too, have a 2009 MB Touring AT and love it. The black is indeed a PITA to keep clean, but it looks so good after a wash and wax!

Good luck with the rust issues. Seems a bit excessive.

nice z and welcome

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm gonna take it to the shop and have them stop the rust ASAP and also repair/replace whatever is affected.

Good thinking. That's definitely a fair amount of rust. Probably ok for normal weather driving, but more snow and rain will continue to exacerbate it if not addressed.

It looks like the biggest parts that are affected are the braces that go from the subframe to the mid of the car. Not sure of the technical term. It must be the heat from the exhaust combined with boston's salt on the road that did it... The subframe has surface rust which can be removed and repainted.

It sucks, but that's new england for you. The only car that hasn't had any rust on the bottom here was my volvo S60R...

Welcome man! get a good sealant on that paint, other wise it will be ridiculous to keep clean. Chem guys has great products!

Quck question. Anyone know the part numbers for the braces that attach to the bottom of the subframe and the ones that attach above the muffler? I've been searching the nissan parts diagrams for what seems like forever and I can't find any info on them. I'll most likely replace those. I'm just super glad I got the best extended warranty on this car.
