New Z Owner 2 B

Big up all Z Owners. I have been tinkering with the idea of getting a Z for years now and have researched everything from the new BRZ, to the Porsche 996, 997 and Cayman S. I have come full circle to the Z. I am currently looking at a 2010 NIMO and a 2011 Touring. The car will only be driven when I visit my Vacation Home in Florida, so I was looking for the maximum fun factor. I am in need of the fun factor because where I live, (Bermuda) the speed limit is 20 mph but they allow you to go, 30 mph. The NISMO @ 36k is going for $25k and the Touring @ 35k, is $23k.

I am very good with a stick shift so the NISMO would be the perfect choice. The problem is, If I get that one, I would have to chauffeur my wife to her marathon shopping trips and I'm not too keen on that. If I get the other, then that problem is solved. My question is, how close to standard shifting is the Paddle shift and does it come close to the fun of the NISMO. I know I can go and test drive them both, but one is located 40 miles from my house and the other 175 Miles. I have one shot at this, as I will be flying up to get one or the other. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. :driving:

Just look at it as another excuse to drive that Nismo. :driving:

Also, I'm not so sure the trunk in the Z is built for "marathon shopping trips". Unless you're buying small items like jewels or cookies. :ugh2:

i have the AT and i love it...i would prefer to have the manual nismo but i have a right shoulder condition that won't allow me to shift all the time...either choice is a good one but go for the nismo

Her shopping is more of an event, as opposed to actually shopping. Marathon Shopping for her is, being in a store for 2 hours and leaving with about three dresses. Then spending another hour in the shoe store and leaving with a couple pairs of shoe and that doesn't, take into account the other five or six shops, where nothing was purchased. so yeah, whatever is bought will fit.

I guess I should also be asking, whether or not the NISMO can be retrofitted with some of the options, in the Touring and if so, where is the best place to look.

The NISMO is pretty stripped in the USA and there's not much in terms of options (backup camera and the Bose stereo).

If you are looking for something more daily driver-ish I'd go for a sport/touring.
I greatly prefer the stick (and think you probably would too) but it's your choice.

Not looking for Daily Driver, this car will solely be a fun drive when I am vacationing in the US. I like the NISMO but I think I would want some good amenities to go along with it. I think the best choice will be a Touring with Sport and Navigation package and that would also be in stick. I think my decision has been made, I just need to find one within 500 miles or so of Florida. I saw a couple posted here, but they may have been sold, as the posted dates are a few weeks old.
