About to purchase 2014 370Z

Hi.

About a month ago I began my search for a new car and decided on a 370Z. Right now I'm trying to decide which options to add. I've basically narrowed it down to a Touring w/ Sport (with that fancy Persimmon leather) or a NISMO w/ Bose. I'll be making a visit to a dealership soon to try out the Bose speakers and see if it's something I can live with or not.

Not really digging the Nav package as I just don't see myself using it all that much except for the rear camera. I'll probably just get the rear-view mirror camera option. Does anyone recommend one over the other?

Anyone in Houston recommend a particular dealership? Any reputable Z shops in Houston?

See you guys on the road

I wanted the base with rear camera in mirror, but fell in love with the Sport version after a test drive. Part of me wanted the GPS option with all the fixings but that kept adding to the price. We're talking going from a base of $31k to $44k. You can get a Sentra for the difference!

In my case I ended up with GPS/Nav and I am glad I have it. It's have been find as a base "sports car" but I like being spoiled. I got a good price too, so it was win/win.

Check them both out, and don't settle. Get what YOU want!

I would suggest it's all about what you want to do with your Z. I should of spent the extra money for the sports package because I want the calipers now. Other than that, I've customized everything else; wheels, exhaust, intake, windows, speakers, touchscreen navi, etc... If you plan on or enjoy making the customization aspect of the Z, I'd go with the sport model without navi just for the calipers. That's just my opinion though, either way you look at it you'll be getting a Z. Soooooo welcome to our world

Sport package yes. I understand the reluctance on the Nav. I had a Sport without Nav for 3 years and my new 2014 has Nav. It's not a very good navigation tool...nothing that can't be vastly exceeded by a $3 app for an iPad. However, it does finish off the interior nicely and there are a few other features like Bluetooth play and a better information display that make it worth the extra money IMHO. The difference between the Nav package and in-mirror rear-view is $1300. The image in the mirror is small and marginally functional IMHO, the image in the Nav package is really good. And especially if Apple's CarPlay app is retro'ed to all 2014s, then that $1300 is a no-brainer.

I have the touring sport & Nav and have enjoyed doing several mods. My car is my daily driver so I want it a little more refined. The Nav package really does this with how the controls are all tied together and the other advantages already mentioned.

If I was going to build this car up for the track I would buy a base model and mod everything from the suspension, seats, FI on up. That way I would have only the cheaper base model parts laying around.

As cheap as these cars are selling right now (invoice or less) and if you aren't going to mod the suspension I would go for both Sport and Nav.

Good luck. BTW, I have the persimmon interior and smile every time I get in the car.

My 4th. Z

Hey all,

I just purchased my 4th. Z A midnight Blue Coupe touring with sports Pkg.
I really like the car. I had my last Z a 2004 Roadster touring for 10 years and it looked new. I very seldom put the top down so I did not get a soft top this time. I also Had a 1990 and a 1995 Loved them all.
